Capturing the Eiffel Tower: A Parisian Photo Guide

Get ready to capture the City of Lights in its most iconic form! This blog is your passport to the best spots for photographing the Eiffel Tower. We’ll explore hidden gems and famous landmarks, all offering breathtaking views of this architectural marvel. We’ll even share some tips and tricks to make your pictures truly memorable.

Let’s dive into this photographic adventure!

Start Your Eiffel Tower Journey

Why not begin your photo journey at Avenue de Camoens or Trocadero? These locations are perfect for those who prefer to avoid lots of stairs, and they’ll offer you a fantastic starting point.

Avenue de Camoens is tucked away in a charming residential area of Paris. This spot allows you to capture the Eiffel Tower in a unique way, framed by quintessential Parisian buildings. Imagine the beauty of a pastel-colored sunrise, adding an air of romance to your photos, just like we experienced in the winter.

Next, head to Trocadero, a breathtaking lookout platform. This spot offers unobstructed views of the Eiffel Tower and is a favorite among photographers. However, be aware that parts of the square might be fenced off at times. No worries, though – the famous stairs to Trocadero, with their stunning views, are still accessible!

But be warned: climbing on the railing to capture the perfect shot can be scary, especially if you’re wearing a skirt. The railing is slippery, and the drop on the other side is quite high. While we’ve seen some daring individuals twirling on the railing, we strongly advise against it, unless you’re a seasoned Cirque de Soleil performer!

Discover More Hidden Gems

The park next to Trocadero is another fantastic spot for capturing the Eiffel Tower. We were lucky enough to arrive just in time for sunrise, making for some truly magical moments.

For an iconic Parisian view, make your way to the Bir-Hakkeim Bridge. From this bridge, not only can you capture the Eiffel Tower in all its glory, but the bridge itself is a fantastic photo subject. Don’t forget to cross the bridge to reach the next photo spot.

From Pont-bir-Hakkeim, take a stroll towards Champs de Mars, passing by Le Castel Cafe. This cafe’s red canopy creates a beautiful frame for the Eiffel Tower, offering a unique perspective. We did encounter a truck blocking our view when we visited, so we had to get creative. But typically, this spot is ideal for capturing the Eiffel Tower.

Champs de Mars is a large park, perfect for taking pictures without being crowded. You can easily find a quiet spot to relax and enjoy the park’s peaceful ambiance.

Capture the Parisian Charm

Next on our itinerary is Rue de l’Université, a famous Instagram spot. From this location, you’ll have another enchanting view of the Eiffel Tower surrounded by typical Parisian buildings and cobblestones.

With a little patience, you can capture this spot without any crowds. We found the people here to be very polite, giving each other space to take pictures. Although this spot is truly beautiful, we found that it was difficult to capture the full view without a wide-angle lens.

From Rue de l’Université, walk towards the Seine River. The riverbanks are a tranquil spot for capturing the Eiffel Tower and enjoying the serenity of the Seine. We can’t help but imagine how perfect it would be to bring a picnic basket and enjoy a leisurely lunch on the riverbanks.

For a longer walk and a peek into another Parisian neighborhood, head to Le Recrutement Cafe. We learned that a 24 mm lens is ideal for capturing the Eiffel Tower from this spot, as a wide-angle lens can be too much.

We hope this guide inspires you to capture the magic of the Eiffel Tower. With its stunning views, charming Parisian surroundings, and a touch of adventure, your Eiffel Tower photo journey will be a memorable one!
