Enchanting Parisian Charm
The Saint James Paris has held a special place in my heart for years, and I finally got to experience it in November. It was everything I hoped for and more! Imagine stepping into a courtyard adorned with twinkling Christmas lights, a smile spreading across your face. The concierge, recommended by my friend Thibault at Grand Powers, welcomed me with open arms and even arranged for a drink at the bar, known as one of the best in Paris. He then gave me an impromptu tour of the hotel before leading me to the bar. Did I mention the charming courtyard in the back that’s perfect for a small wedding? (Just in case you’re thinking about it!) Let’s just say, I have a serious crush on this hotel.

Grand Hotel du Palais Royal is another Parisian gem I adore. It’s a charming boutique hotel nestled just behind the Louvre on a quiet street overlooking Palais Royal. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city center, it offers a peaceful retreat. And if you can splurge a bit, book a balcony room with an Eiffel Tower view for an unforgettable experience.
I stumbled upon Pavillon de la Reine while exploring the Marais a few years ago. It’s hidden away in Place des Vosges, easy to miss if you’re not looking for it. But once you step into the courtyard, you’ll be mesmerized by the ivy-covered building. In the fall, the ivy transforms into a breathtaking tapestry of red, yellow, and green hues, and to my surprise, this past summer, it was adorned with fragrant jasmine, my absolute favorite!
The hotel has a restaurant that recently earned a Michelin star, a testament to its culinary excellence. Some rooms have windows that open up to the courtyard, where you can hear opera singers on weekends. This hotel is a true gem, a perfect escape for a romantic getaway or honeymoon.
Classic Parisian Elegance
You might recognize The Bristol from the enchanting film, “Midnight in Paris.” This hotel epitomizes classic Parisian elegance, and I have no doubt a stay here would be unforgettable. While I haven’t had the pleasure of spending the night yet, I’ve enjoyed high tea in their exquisite restaurant, and the service was impeccable. If you need more convincing, don’t miss their rooftop indoor pool, exclusively for guests.
You’ll remember Hôtel Plaza Athénée from the iconic TV show, “Sex and the City.” This is where Carrie stays with the Russian at the end of the series. Their balconies are truly breathtaking, and you can even request the “Carrie room!” The location is unbeatable, offering stunning Eiffel Tower views from your balcony.
Luxury and Comfort in the City of Lights
A reader recommended La Reserve Apartments for her honeymoon, and she raved about it! It offers all the amenities of a hotel but with extra space and privacy. The lobby and library are simply stunning. I had the opportunity to tour this exquisite property a few years ago and enjoyed a drink in the library. It’s a tranquil haven, tucked away from the city’s hustle and bustle.
Grand Powers is a hotel I recommend to my readers frequently, and I always get fantastic feedback after their stay. The concierge and staff go above and beyond to ensure guests have the most enjoyable experience. It’s conveniently located just off the Champs Elysées, within walking distance to fantastic restaurants and the Seine River. Some rooms offer Eiffel Tower views and balconies for a truly Parisian experience.
The Ritz Paris reopened in 2016 after a four-year renovation. I haven’t had the opportunity to stay there yet, but I’m hoping to soon! I recently had a cocktail at Hemingway Bar with a friend, a delightful experience. If you can’t book a room at The Ritz, I highly recommend enjoying a drink at the bar one evening. Be sure to look out for Colin, the famous bartender.
Budget-Friendly Parisian Charm
I know everyone’s budget is different, so I’m including a charming boutique hotel that’s a fantastic option for those looking for value without sacrificing charm. I’ve stayed at Hotel Caron de Beaumarchais and loved it! It’s right in the heart of the Marais, a perfect location for exploring this vibrant neighborhood. I’ve recommended it to many over the years, and everyone has come back raving. I suggest booking a balcony room with an exterior view. They also have a quieter courtyard option. Be sure to order breakfast, one of the best values in the city. It’s only 12 euros and can be delivered to your room, enough for two people.
Just across from the Tuileries Garden, you’ll find a hotel with unbeatable views. I had a chance to tour a room with a balcony on a rainy autumn day, and I immediately wished I could stay the night.
I had the pleasure of visiting Cour des Vosges in November. This intimate hotel offers 12 stunning rooms overlooking the beautiful Place des Vosges, my favorite spot in Paris. Each room is thoughtfully designed to make you feel at home in Paris, with all the modern conveniences of a hotel. It’s the perfect blend of intimacy and luxury.
