Parisian Hotel Adventures: Beaugency & Muguet

Paris! The City of Lights! Ah, the dream of strolling along the Seine, exploring charming cafes, and maybe even catching a glimpse of the Eiffel Tower. But where to stay? In this post, we’ll delve into two fantastic hotels I’ve personally experienced: Beaugency and Muguet. These hotels offer unique perks and charm, so let’s discover which one suits your travel style!

The Beaugency: Affordable Comfort with a Touch of History

I’ve been a fan of the Beaugency for years, ever since my first stay in 2014. While it may not boast the most luxurious decor, it consistently provides a comfortable and clean space. The staff is friendly and familiar, some even remaining from the pre-pandemic days. The hotel boasts double-pane windows for a peaceful sleep, although the nearby Rue du Champ de Mars can get lively with food deliveries in the evenings.

I’ve enjoyed Eiffel Tower views from some rooms, although my most recent stay offered a unique shower window perspective! The hotel is a great value for the location, being one of the least expensive options in the neighborhood.

Pro Tip: If you’re arriving by motorcycle, there’s convenient parking right in front of the hotel.

The Muguet: Luxurious Linens and Quiet Comfort

The Muguet is a gem nestled on a quiet street, offering a peaceful retreat from the city’s hustle and bustle. I’ve been consistently impressed with the luxurious linens, especially the towels and sheets. It’s a delightful touch that elevates the entire experience!

The breakfast buffet is a delightful spread, offering a variety of cold items, and sometimes even a friendly breakfast lady who’s happy to whip up some fresh eggs (though I’m not an egg person myself!). The hotel also boasts a fantastic orange juice squeezer, which is a personal favorite.

The staff is warm and welcoming, with the owner/manager often present during the week.

Pro Tip: Both the Beaugency and Muguet offer 24/7 front desk service, which is a comforting feature for solo travelers like myself.

Other Parisian Gems

While I’ve had wonderful experiences at both Beaugency and Muguet, there are other noteworthy hotels in the area.

The Relais Bosquet is known for its luxurious amenities and delicious breakfast, offering both hot and cold selections. A friend of mine even ran into Rick Steves in the stairwell!

Levecque, another popular choice, has recently undergone a major renovation, transforming it into a modern oasis.

Pro Tip: Be sure to check for special deals for longer stays, as many hotels offer discounts for three-night stays or more. Don’t forget, air conditioning is essential during the hot summer months, so make sure your chosen hotel has it.

And for a refreshing treat, I highly recommend checking out the Amorino gelato shop on Rue Cler. It’s a perfect respite on those sweltering summer days!

In Conclusion: Both the Beaugency and Muguet offer unique benefits for travelers seeking a comfortable and welcoming stay in Paris. Whether you prioritize affordability, luxurious linens, or a quiet retreat, you’re sure to find a perfect match among these Parisian gems!
