Parisian Charm: Our Stay at Hôtel la Comtesse

Paris, the City of Lights, is a place that has captivated hearts for centuries. For many travelers, including ourselves, it’s a dream destination. But even in a city as magical as Paris, the right hotel can make or break your experience. With over 2,000 hotels to choose from, finding the perfect place to stay can feel like a daunting task. We’re thrilled to share our experience at Hôtel la Comtesse, a hidden gem that made our #FallInFrance trip unforgettable.

We knew we wanted to immerse ourselves in the heart of Paris, exploring iconic sights like the Vieux Cité. A hotel near the Seine River seemed like the perfect starting point, especially since many attractions are within walking distance. We envisioned strolling through charming neighborhoods, savoring the ambiance, and feeling like locals. Of course, no Parisian adventure is complete without a glimpse of the Eiffel Tower, so that became our ultimate wish.

Our search led us to Hôtel la Comtesse Paris Tour Eiffel, a boutique hotel located just a block away from Champ de Mars, the sprawling lawn in front of the Eiffel Tower. This location couldn’t have been more ideal. We were surrounded by the city’s iconic landmarks, yet the neighborhood felt authentic and vibrant, filled with locals going about their day. It felt like stepping into a Parisian postcard.

Stepping into Hôtel la Comtesse is like stepping back in time. This elegant boutique hotel, with its 40 beautifully appointed rooms and suites, embodies the charm of 18th-century Parisian salons. The building itself is a testament to the city’s architectural heritage, with its classic Haussmannian design. We loved the cozy atmosphere of the lobby, complete with intricate frescoes on the ceiling and a selection of books to browse. It was the perfect spot to relax and soak in the Parisian atmosphere.

The hotel also features a delightful café, La Comtesse Café, with windows on two sides and charming sidewalk seating. The highlight? A stunning view of the Eiffel Tower! For fitness enthusiasts, the hotel has a small gym and sauna, which we unfortunately didn’t have time to explore during our fall visit.

We opted for a Marquise Room, a “Superior Double” with a side view of the Eiffel Tower. The building’s unique V-shape means that rooms on either side offer a side view of the tower. While we had hoped for a front-and-center view, the side view was still lovely. We realized that spending minimal time in our room meant that a spectacular view wasn’t a necessity.

The room itself was cozy, with a comfortable queen-sized bed, a desk, and two chairs. While the bathroom was spacious, it lacked counter space, a common issue in many hotels. We especially appreciated the towel warmer during our cold-weather visit.

One of the best parts of our stay was the delicious breakfast at the hotel café. We enjoyed fresh pastries, cheese, meats, yogurt, and fruit, but our favorites were the traditional croissants and the coffee maker. We loved being able to brew our own coffee, from espresso to lattes, in the comfort of the café.

But the true highlight of our stay was the exceptional staff. From the moment we arrived, everyone was incredibly welcoming and helpful. They made us feel like valued guests, going above and beyond to assist us with everything from recommendations to directions.

The hotel’s prime location made it easy to explore Paris. Just steps away, we found UNESCO headquarters, Napoleon’s Tomb, Musée de l’Armée, Musée Rodin, and the Champ de Mars park. Within a short walk, we could reach Place de la Concorde, the Champs-Élysées, and the Jardin des Tuileries. And of course, the Eiffel Tower was just a leisurely stroll away.

We truly enjoyed our stay at Hôtel la Comtesse. While some may find the room size a bit snug, it’s a common occurrence in Paris. We highly recommend this charming hotel to anyone looking for a quintessential Parisian experience. With its exceptional staff, perfect location, and delightful atmosphere, Hôtel la Comtesse made our #FallInFrance trip truly unforgettable.
