If prosecco is your thing, Rome is calling! While you can certainly try to translate the entire menu, don’t feel pressured to understand everything. Opt for le plat du jour (the dish of the day). You’ll often have a choice of meat or fish, and sometimes even a vegetarian option. I love le plat du jour because it’s usually made with fresh, seasonal ingredients, and it takes the pressure off making a decision. And if you have a sensitive stomach, make sure to avoid dishes with tripeau, andouillette, andouille, cerveaux, gésiers, and ris – these are typically made with animal intestines, and they’re not for everyone. Don’t worry; there are plenty of other delicious dishes to enjoy!
