What You Need to Know About Basic Economy

Let’s dive into the details of your Basic Economy ticket. First, remember that fares are subject to change, so it’s always a good idea to check the latest pricing at delta.com. Now, let’s talk about the important differences you’ll find with a Basic Economy ticket:

SkyMiles Program

While most flights are eligible for earning SkyMiles, Basic Economy tickets are not eligible for earning miles in the SkyMiles Program or for Medallion Status. Want to know more about the SkyMiles Program? Just check out our Membership Guide & Program Rules.

Basic Economy Rules

With a Basic Economy ticket, you’re making a commitment to a non-refundable, non-changeable fare. This means you won’t be able to get your money back if you need to cancel your flight. You also won’t be able to change your itinerary, so make sure you’re confident in your travel plans.

Basic Economy tickets also mean you won’t get a seat assignment until you check in. And if you’re hoping for an upgrade, you’re out of luck, as Basic Economy tickets are not eligible for paid or complimentary upgrade options.

Ready for more details? We’ve got all the information on our Basic Economy Rules page.

Seat and Onboard Experience

When you fly Delta, you’ll experience a comfortable journey. But your experience will vary depending on the aircraft type and size. Want to find out more about our seat products and Onboard Experience? Just click on our Seat Products and Onboard Experience page.
