Stepping into a whimsical world, Hotel Original Paris is a charming boutique hotel that captures the essence of Parisian chic. Forget bland corporate hotels; this is a place where fantasy and poetry come to life, designed with an eye for detail and a love for the unexpected.
A Whimsical Escape in the Heart of Paris
I recently discovered this hidden gem during a quick trip to Paris. Nestled in the Marias, one of my favourite areas of the city, Hotel Original Paris is a stylish oasis just steps away from the bustling Place de la Bastille. The hotel itself is a feast for the senses, with its gorgeous purple facade and lavender lighting.
The vibrant, eclectic neighbourhood offers a wealth of experiences: stylish boutiques, world-class museums, tranquil parks, and stunning architecture. You’ll find countless cafés and restaurants to satisfy every craving. It’s a perfect blend of history and modernity – the best of both worlds.
A Quirky and Elegant Retreat
The hotel’s design, by Stella Cadente, is a unique blend of original features and extravagant materials. From the moment you enter, you’ll be transported to a world of whimsy and charm. One room even features a bathtub in the centre!
We booked a triple room and were upgraded to a spacious quad with a king-sized bed and two twin beds, all separated by a cleverly placed curtain. This was a lifesaver for me as I could wake up early to work without disturbing my daughters.
Parisian Charm in Every Detail
Our room was tastefully decorated with lavender walls, a black and white striped armchair, a small desk with a red velvet chair, and a black lacquer built-in wardrobe. It felt like stepping into a fairytale.
The comfortable beds were adorned with crisp white sheets. The only small issue was a plastic liner under the fitted sheet, which made a slight noise when moving around. But after learning about the recent bed bug issue in Paris, I now understand why they have them!
Luxurious Amenities and a Touch of French Pharmacy
The bathroom was absolutely delightful: black and white ceramic tiles, fluffy terrycloth bathrobes and slippers, and a refreshing rain shower. The toiletries were a revelation, like stepping into a French pharmacy – one of my favourite experiences in Paris. They were from the brand Uriage eau Thermale, and I’m now completely obsessed with them!
The hotel also boasts a wellness room where you can book massages and a fabulous sauna that easily fits 3-4 people. It’s kept in immaculate condition and features the same luxurious Uriage eau Thermale amenities. We enjoyed a relaxing sauna session after a day of exploring Paris, the perfect way to unwind and recharge.
Exceptional Service and a Serene Atmosphere
The attentive staff is committed to ensuring a warm and friendly welcome for every guest. The hotel’s wellness and relaxation area offers a duo treatment room and sauna, creating an intimate and soothing atmosphere. You can indulge in personalized treatments using natural and organic French products from “Huygens Paris,” based on essential oils for maximum effectiveness.
More Than Just a Hotel
Breakfast is served from 7:00 to 11:00 and includes delicious treats: hot drinks, viennoiseries, bread, yogurt, orange juice, cereal, and fresh fruit. The hotel also has an intimate lounge with a bar stocked with a variety of drinks.
Free Wi-Fi works brilliantly, and there’s coffee and tea available from noon onwards. You’ll also find a selection of quality newspapers, including the New York Times, my favourite. The rooms are kept at the perfect temperature – a godsend for someone who often wakes up feeling too hot or cold! And they even have air conditioning for those sweltering summer days.
A Truly Exceptional Experience
From the friendly staff to the unique design, Hotel Original Paris offers a truly exceptional experience. Fabien, Angela, and Charles, the best reception team ever, are full of helpful advice for local attractions. They even recommended a fantastic cat café!
If you’re looking for a quirky, boutique hotel in a prime location with stylish amenities and friendly service, look no further than Hotel Original Paris. It’s become my new go-to place in Paris, and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a memorable stay in the City of Lights.
