Shopping close to the Eiffel Tower

It can be tricky to find shops near the iconic Eiffel Tower, as the area is mostly made up of homes. But don’t worry! There’s a great option just a short walk away: the Beaugrenelle Shopping Mall, one of the best places to shop in Paris. You can easily get there by taking a leisurely 20-minute stroll along the beautiful Seine River, or by hopping on the convenient bus line 30, which directly connects the Eiffel Tower to the mall. The mall itself is a fantastic place to spend some time, with a variety of shops, movie theaters, and restaurants offering delicious and affordable meals.

Beaugrenelle Shopping Mall is a shopper’s paradise, boasting over 150 stores, including the renowned Galeries Lafayette department store. It’s open every day of the week, from 10:30 am to 12:30 am, giving you plenty of time to explore. The mall’s many restaurants are also open from 10 am to midnight, providing you with a convenient place to grab a bite to eat before or after shopping. If you’re looking for entertainment, Cinéma Pathé Beaugrenelle is a great choice, with ten viewing rooms and a schedule that runs from 10 am to 12:30 am daily.

The Eiffel Tower: A Parisian Icon

The Eiffel Tower, known in French as Tour Eiffel, is a must-see for any visitor to Paris. You can choose to explore this iconic structure on your own or as part of a guided tour, many of which offer skip-the-line tickets for a more convenient experience. Some tours even include a delightful lunch or dinner at the tower. For a breathtaking view, head to the Palais de Chaillot on the opposite bank of the Seine River.

This engineering marvel, the brainchild of a daring engineer, weighs a staggering 7,300 tons! However, the pressure it exerts on the ground is surprisingly light, equivalent to the weight of a person sitting on a chair. The tower, now towering at 324 meters with its television antennas, stands tall over Paris, a city with a relatively low skyline. Spectacular elevators whisk you up to the first floor (58 meters above ground), the second floor (115 meters), and the third and top floor (276 meters), offering stunning 360-degree views of the city.

The Eiffel Tower is open daily from at least 9:30 am to 11:45 pm, with stairs accessible from 9:30 am to 6:30 pm. Tickets to the second floor cost 17.10 euros, and you can conveniently purchase them online. The Eiffel Tower is home to two restaurants: Madame Brasserie on the first floor, a charming new brasserie, and the elegant Jules Verne on the second floor, offering exceptional value for money on weekdays. If you’re feeling adventurous, take the stairs up to the second floor—it’s an unforgettable experience. Don’t miss the chance to see the Eiffel Tower lit up at night, especially on July 14th!

A Parisian Park with a View

The Champ-de-Mars, the park located at the foot of the Eiffel Tower in the heart of Paris, will transform into a temporary outdoor arena in 2024. This unique location will offer spectators, television audiences, and athletes an exceptional setting nestled between the Eiffel Tower and the Ecole Militaire.

For Parisians, the Champ de Mars is a beloved gathering place, drawing thousands of people together for a variety of events, from the traditional 14th of July firework displays to the excitement of a Football World Cup Final. Every day, Parisians and visitors alike enjoy the park’s vast alleyways and lawns, playing sports, soaking in the views, or simply taking a leisurely stroll. This magnificent site is now one of Paris’ most iconic public gardens. To accommodate beach volleyball and blind football events, a temporary outdoor arena will be built in 2024, allowing everyone to enjoy this magical setting.

The Champ de Mars, situated between the impressive facade of the Ecole Militaire to the south and the iconic Eiffel Tower on the Seine River side, will once again be a lively community space during the Paris 2024 Games. It will be a key venue, alongside the Eiffel Tower Stadium’s overlay arena and other events hosted at the Grand Palais Overlay, a temporary structure set up on Place Joffre since 2021.
