Paris is known for its charming boutique hotels, and I just discovered my new favorite: Hotel Original Paris. It’s a 4-star haven with a captivating ambiance, perfect for anyone looking for a unique and stylish stay in the City of Lights. Even better, they’re open again after the lockdown!
During a quick trip to Paris, I stumbled upon this gem. The hotel’s vibrant purple facade and lavender lighting instantly caught my eye. Nestled at the edge of the Marais, a neighborhood known for its chic shops, museums, and lively atmosphere, Hotel Original Paris offers the perfect blend of Parisian charm and modern comfort.
Don’t expect a generic corporate hotel. Hotel Original Paris is a unique and whimsical experience, designed by Stella Cadente, with a theme of “fantasy and poetry.” The hotel’s design is a beautiful mix of original features, luxurious materials, and delightful surprises, like a bathtub right in the middle of one of the rooms!
Our triple room was upgraded to a spacious quad, complete with a king-sized bed and two twin beds. The clever use of curtains provided privacy, allowing me to wake up early for work without disturbing the girls.
The room itself was a feast for the senses. Decorated in shades of lavender, with black and white striped armchairs and a sleek, red velvet chair, the room felt like stepping into a fairytale. The comfortable beds were draped in crisp white sheets, although the plastic liner underneath the fitted sheet did make a bit of noise. However, I later learned about Paris’s bed bug problem and understand why they have these liners!
The bathroom was equally luxurious. Black and white ceramic tiles, plush bathrobes and slippers, and a refreshing rain shower created a spa-like experience. But the real highlight was the toiletries. It was like stepping into a high-end Parisian pharmacy. They were from a brand I’d never heard of before, Uriage eau Thermale, and I’m now obsessed with it! The separate toilet was also a welcome feature for a family of three.
Beyond the rooms, Hotel Original Paris offers a range of amenities to enhance your stay. There’s a dedicated wellness room where you can book massages, a fabulous sauna that can easily accommodate three to four people, and a relaxing shower room stocked with the incredible Uriage eau Thermale products. After a day of exploring Paris, we enjoyed a relaxing evening in the sauna, and it was the perfect way to unwind.
The hotel staff is incredibly attentive and welcoming. They create a warm and inviting atmosphere, ensuring guests feel right at home. The hotel also boasts a beautiful wellness area with a dedicated treatment room and sauna, offering a range of personalized treatments using natural and organic products. These treatments, crafted with essential oils, are designed to nourish your skin and body.
Start your day with a delicious breakfast, served from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The buffet offers a variety of options, from hot drinks and pastries to yogurt, fruit, and cereals. In the evening, relax in the hotel’s intimate lounge with a selection of drinks, and enjoy complimentary coffee and tea from noon onwards. The hotel even offers a selection of high-quality newspapers, including the New York Times.
The rooms are incredibly comfortable with perfect temperatures. They even have air conditioning, which is a lifesaver in the summer.
The front desk staff is exceptional, offering valuable tips and recommendations for local attractions. We especially enjoyed their suggestion to visit a cat café!
Hotel Original Paris is more than just a place to stay; it’s an experience. A quirky and stylish hotel with a friendly atmosphere and a prime location in one of Paris’s most vibrant neighborhoods, it’s a perfect option for those seeking a memorable and comfortable Parisian adventure.
