A Culinary Journey Atop the Eiffel Tower

The Eiffel Tower, an iconic symbol of Paris, has always been a destination for breathtaking views and culinary experiences. Since its opening in 1889, the tower has hosted a variety of restaurants that have evolved over time, reflecting the changing tastes and trends of the city.

A History of Dining at the Eiffel Tower

The tower’s first floor initially featured four restaurants, complete with kitchens fueled by gas lighting. However, in 1937, these restaurants were demolished for the international exposition, and only two were rebuilt. In the 1980s, during a major renovation, these two were redesigned and renamed La Belle France and Le Parisien, solidifying their place as must-visit destinations in Paris.

In a further evolution, the two restaurants were merged into a single, spacious brasserie called Altitude 95, a name reflecting its location 95 meters above sea level. This brasserie, designed by Slavik and Loup with a hot air balloon theme, became another culinary highlight of the Eiffel Tower.

The Modern-Day 58 Tour Eiffel

In 2009, the brasserie underwent yet another transformation, opening its doors as the chic and contemporary 58 Tour Eiffel. This elegant restaurant, redesigned by Patrick Jouin, who also crafted the interior of the Jules Verne restaurant, offers stunning views of the city.

A Feast for All Tastes

The 58 Tour Eiffel serves up a delightful array of French cuisine, skillfully crafted by Chef Alain Soulard, a veteran of the Jules Verne and other renowned restaurants. He specializes in creating high-quality French cuisine, catering to both sophisticated palates and casual diners.
