It’s a tale as old as time: you’re looking for a relaxing spa experience to pamper yourself, only to find yourself facing a horrifying reality. Unfortunately, for many, these nightmares are all too real, as evidenced by the countless online reviews detailing the horrors of certain spas.
The Spa Where Customers Are Treated Like Guests
I’m still fuming about my recent experience at this spa! The staff was incredibly rude and unprofessional, treating customers like they were an inconvenience. It’s as if they felt superior to us, making us feel like we were asking for something for free.
The atmosphere was far from relaxing, more akin to a bustling marketplace. The staff was constantly talking amongst themselves in loud voices, completely ignoring customers. Some were even caught playing games on their phones while working! It’s supposed to be a sanctuary for relaxation, not a gathering place for staff to socialize.
What truly shocked me was the appearance of one particular staff member. She was so large and heavyset that she resembled Dung Mama from the popular Chinese drama “My Fair Princess.” I couldn’t believe someone with that physique would even consider working in a spa! She was so rough with her treatment, as if she were scrubbing a pig instead of a human being.
The worst part? This staff member actually felt entitled to tips and openly boasted about receiving a large amount of money from other customers. It felt like they were trying to pressure us into tipping, making us feel obligated to do so. It was truly disheartening to see such blatant greed and lack of professionalism in a spa.
The Voucher That Turned Into a Nightmare
I was lucky enough to win a voucher worth 30 million VND (roughly $1,300 USD) for a year’s worth of spa services. However, my excitement quickly turned into disappointment when I visited the spa.
The staff seemed displeased that I was using a voucher. They even showed me a different menu specifically for voucher holders, which featured significantly higher prices than the regular menu. For example, a single whitening treatment cost a staggering 5 million VND (about $220 USD) – over three times the price of the regular menu.
The voucher was only enough for a few treatments, so I reluctantly booked five whitening treatments and one facial. However, even at this inflated price, the service was terrible. The spa looked like a rundown motel, with outdated furniture and a cramped atmosphere.
Imagine my surprise when they led me up to the rooftop for my whitening treatment! The “spa room” was nothing more than a tiny, enclosed space made of flimsy panels. It felt like I was taking a bath in a student dormitory, not a luxurious spa!
The whitening treatment was also disappointing. The products were cheap and the process was rushed. It felt like I was simply being rubbed with salt and lotion, with a measly 50 minutes dedicated to the whole process. This voucher quickly became the most expensive mistake I’ve ever made!
The Worst Spa Experience: Lies, Cheating, and Disrespect
I can’t even begin to express how terrible my experience at this spa was. The spa was located in the city center, but lacked proper parking, leading to a chaotic parking situation. To make matters worse, I found three scratches on my car upon leaving, a clear sign of carelessness and lack of accountability.
The staff was more interested in playing games and socializing than tending to customers. I found myself waiting for a long time for a treatment, despite the empty beds. It seems they were unwilling to work after 6 PM.
The treatment itself was not worth the price. The products used were mediocre, and the massage lacked any finesse. I even had a bad reaction to the cream used, causing my skin to become red and irritated. I immediately had to wash it off.
The spa was known for pushing additional services and expensive packages. The moment I walked in, the staff tried to convince me to purchase a 10-session package. I had read numerous online reviews warning of this aggressive sales tactic and declined politely. However, I could sense their disappointment and felt uncomfortable.
The spa’s staff also misled me about the duration of the service. They advertised a 90-minute treatment, but I only received 50 minutes of actual service.
Adding insult to injury, the spa charged me for parking even though I had purchased their expensive treatment packages. This felt like another attempt to take advantage of customers, especially considering many other spas offer free parking.
I was shocked by the audacity of this spa. I will never visit again, even if they offer free treatments.
The Spa With Two Faces
My first visit to this spa was pleasant, with the staff being very welcoming and friendly. However, the moment I mentioned having a voucher, their attitude changed.
They immediately tried to convince me to purchase a monthly package for over 1 million VND (around $44 USD). When I politely declined, the staff member made a rude comment about my skin, implying that I needed a long-term commitment for any significant improvement.
I was offended, as I don’t believe my skin is any worse than anyone else’s. It’s clear they were simply trying to push their overpriced package.
My disappointment didn’t end there. After refusing the package, I was told there were no available staff and had to wait for an hour. Feeling frustrated, I decided to leave.
On my second visit, the treatment itself was terrible. It felt rushed and perfunctory, with the staff simply slathering products on my face for 90 minutes. When it was time to leave, they insisted I shower quickly because the spa was closing. It felt like I was being kicked out, not pampered.
The spa’s lack of professionalism and blatant attempts to mislead and pressure customers left me feeling utterly disgusted. I’m left wondering how this spa stays in business.
Another Nightmare: The Voucher That Promised Miracles but Delivered Disappointment
I was lured in by a voucher for a whitening treatment using sheep placenta and stem cells. The initial interaction with the staff was promising, but their attitude changed when I mentioned the voucher.
Their tactics were obvious: pressuring me to purchase additional services and packages. They were disappointed when I refused and made their displeasure clear with their body language.
The actual treatment was a joke. It was nothing like the 11-step process advertised. The staff only completed a handful of the steps and rushed through the rest. There was no evidence of any sheep placenta or stem cell products, just a few generic lotions and serums.
The final straw was the tip situation. I left a generous tip of 60,000 VND (around $2.60 USD) for the three staff members, but one of them complained that it wasn’t enough, even though they only performed a few steps of the treatment.
Even the parking was an issue. I had to pay for parking, which felt like another unnecessary expense added to the already overpriced treatments.
This spa is a prime example of how deceptive and unethical some businesses can be. I will never return and strongly advise others to avoid it at all costs.
