Imagine strolling past enormous queues and joining a small, exclusive line, a sense of smug satisfaction washing over you. This was our reality as we headed towards the iconic Eiffel Tower for a romantic evening of French cuisine and wine.
Could this be the culmination of Parisian dreams, or merely a tourist trap with bland food and cheap wine?
The anticipation built like a crescendo as we joined the exclusive lift, eagerly peering at the twinkling city below.
The grand double doors swung open with a flourish, revealing a bustling, elegant scene spanning two levels. Intimate tables for two nestled amongst larger groups and dedicated areas for tour groups.
58 Tour Eiffel offers pre-booked dinner options, ranging from $118 to $165. We were fortunate enough to snag a mid-priced “privileged” table, boasting a stunning Trocadéro view just one row back from the window.
The elegant ambiance was enhanced by minimalist furnishings and soft lighting, perfectly complementing the mesmerizing panorama.
The restaurant operates with military precision, offering two two-hour seatings each evening. Despite the efficiency, our friendly waiter made us feel pampered and relaxed.
As we sipped our welcome Champagne, the entrées arrived, a delightful symphony of flavors and colors. We savored spiced king prawns resting atop vibrant avocado, grapefruit, and sweet edible blooms.
This was far from your average tourist restaurant fare.
Our expectations soared with the succulent roast herbed guinea fowl breast accompanied by mashed potatoes, green asparagus, and a creamy mushroom sauce. My husband’s grilled lamb was equally impressive.
The rich chocolate marquise for dessert was the perfect ending to our culinary journey. We soaked up the view with another glass of wine, before ascending to the top of the Eiffel Tower for a truly unforgettable experience.
More Than Just a Tourist Trap
58 Tour Eiffel delivered on its promise of an iconic dining experience. The food surpassed expectations, exemplifying the best of French cuisine. The service was attentive and charming, adding to the overall delightful atmosphere.
But it wasn’t just the food that made this experience special. It was the location – dining atop the Eiffel Tower, a truly unique and magical experience that transcends the ordinary.
While the minimalist décor might not be everyone’s cup of tea, the view and the food more than compensate.
The vibrant atmosphere was infectious, a perfect blend of romance and excitement.
For the price, the value was exceptional. We highly recommend this dining experience for anyone visiting the City of Lights.
