A Culinary Journey Above Paris: The 58 Tour Eiffel

Imagine yourself dining in a chic brasserie with breathtaking views of the City of Lights. That’s exactly what awaits you at the 58 Tour Eiffel, a restaurant nestled high above the ground on the first floor of the iconic Eiffel Tower. But this restaurant’s story is as fascinating as the views it offers.

From Four to One: A Restaurant’s Evolution

The Eiffel Tower, when it first opened in 1889, boasted four restaurants on its first floor. These restaurants were powered by gas lighting, and their kitchens were located below. However, the 1937 International Exposition saw a major change. The four restaurants were demolished, replaced by just two.

As the Eiffel Tower underwent renovations in the 1980s, these two restaurants were remodeled and given new names: La Belle France and Le Parisien. These were considered must-visit dining destinations in Paris. The restaurant scene continued to evolve. The two restaurants were merged into a single grand brasserie called Altitude 95, designed by Slavik and Loup with a hot air balloon theme. The name was a nod to the restaurant’s location, 95 meters above sea level.

A Chic Transformation: The Birth of 58 Tour Eiffel

The restaurant experienced another complete makeover in 2009. It was redesigned by Patrick Jouin, the architect behind the Jules Verne restaurant’s interior. This stylish transformation led to the restaurant’s current name: 58 Tour Eiffel. The name reflects the restaurant’s location on the 58th floor.

A Culinary Experience: Lunch and Dinner at 58 Tour Eiffel

The 58 Tour Eiffel offers two distinct dining experiences: a picnic-style lunch and a sophisticated dinner.

For lunch, you’re in for a chic and casual affair. From 11:30 am to 4:30 pm, you can enjoy a non-stop service of delightful dishes. The two-course option includes a starter and main course or a main course and dessert. You can also opt for a three-course menu. The lunch menu features delicious options like Caesar salad, seared bonito tuna, and roasted poultry risotto.

The dinner at the 58 Tour Eiffel is a completely different experience, offering a refined atmosphere with contemporary decor, soft lighting, and minimalist furniture. The design, once again by Patrick Jouin, focuses on creating an elegant and luxurious environment without obstructing the breathtaking panoramic views. Dinner at the 58 Tour Eiffel offers a classic French culinary experience. You can choose from a range of menus starting at €70 per person for a three-course meal with champagne.

Indulge in French Delights: Menus and Options

The 58 Tour Eiffel’s menu offers a diverse selection of classic French cuisine, with dishes changing regularly. Expect to savor delightful starters like seared tiger prawn or duck foie gras. Main courses might include seared salmon fillet or oven-roasted leg of lamb. For a special occasion, opt for the Service Premier, a tasting menu with an aperitif, two main courses, and wine pairings. This exclusive experience is available at the 9 pm sitting and includes privileged seating and the option to choose window seating.

Don’t Forget the Kids!

Children are not forgotten at the 58 Tour Eiffel. They can enjoy their own specially crafted menus at a reduced price. For those opting for the Service Premier, there’s even a chocolate cake shaped like the Eiffel Tower, making it a truly memorable experience.

Planning Your Visit

To access the 58 Tour Eiffel, you’ll need to purchase a ticket to ascend the Eiffel Tower, even for your booked dinner. Reservations are highly recommended for dinner, and can be made online at the official Eiffel Tower website. The 58 Tour Eiffel is truly a unique dining experience that combines breathtaking views with delicious French cuisine. It’s an opportunity to experience the charm of Paris from a truly spectacular perspective.
