A History of Transformation

The Eiffel Tower, a marvel of engineering, has always been a popular destination, and its culinary offerings have evolved alongside its fame. Back in 1889, when the Tower first opened its doors, four restaurants graced its first floor. These restaurants, powered by gas lighting, had kitchens tucked away beneath them.

The 1937 International Exposition led to a change, with the four restaurants being demolished and replaced with just two. Then, during major renovations in the 1980s, these two restaurants were given a fresh makeover, becoming known as La Belle France and Le Parisien, must-visit spots in Paris.

Yet another transformation took place when these two restaurants merged into a grand brasserie called Altitude 95, designed by Slavik and Loup with a hot air balloon theme. This name perfectly reflected its location, 95 meters above sea level.

In 2009, the brasserie underwent another complete overhaul, emerging with a chic new style and a new name: 58 Tour Eiffel. This reimagining was overseen by renowned designer Patrick Jouin, who also crafted the interior of the renowned Jules Verne restaurant.

Picnic Chic: Lunch at 58 Tour Eiffel

Lunch at 58 Tour Eiffel is a unique experience, offering a chic picnic style service. From 11:30 am to 4:30 pm, you can indulge in a non-stop culinary journey. Whether you choose a two-course meal of starter and main course or main course and dessert, or opt for a three-course feast, your meal will be served in a charming basket at the counter.

Chef Alain Soulard, who has honed his skills working alongside Alain Ducasse at Jules Verne and other esteemed restaurants, creates a menu that blends classic French cuisine with multicultural influences, catering to all tastes.

The lunch menu offers a variety of tempting choices, from Caesar salad with parmesan and caper berries to seared bonito tuna with mashed potatoes and sauce vierge. Main course options include roasted poultry risotto with cream of mushrooms, and for those with a sweet tooth, the Crousti Eiffel cake with praline and chocolate is a must-try. There is also a dedicated children’s menu for younger diners.

Elevated Evenings at 58 Tour Eiffel

The restaurant boasts a contemporary décor, with soft lighting and minimalist furniture designed by Patrick Jouin. The ambiance exudes luxury while still showcasing the stunning panoramic views of the city.

Dinner at 58 Tour Eiffel is a special occasion, and reservations are essential. There are two seating times: 6:30 pm and 9 pm.

The evening menu features a selection of classic French dishes with a modern twist. Starters might include seared tiger prawn with avocado, soya, and sesame dressing or duck foie gras with red onion marmalade, honey, and balsamic. Main courses could feature seared salmon fillet with carrots, green peas, and white butter sauce or oven-roasted leg of lamb with Anna potatoes, artichokes, and real jus.

For a truly special celebration, the Service Premier offers a multi-course tasting menu, featuring an aperitif, starter, two main courses, dessert, mignardises, wine, mineral water, and coffee. This luxurious experience, available at the 9 pm seating, can be enjoyed with regular seating or with privileged window seating overlooking the Trocadero.
