A Culinary Journey at the Eiffel Tower’s 58 Tour Eiffel

Imagine savoring delicious French cuisine while taking in the breathtaking panoramic views of Paris. The 58 Tour Eiffel restaurant, nestled on the first floor of the iconic Eiffel Tower, offers a unique and unforgettable dining experience. This restaurant has undergone a captivating transformation throughout the years, from its humble beginnings with four gas-lit restaurants to its present-day chic brasserie.

From Four Restaurants to One Elegant Brasserie

When the Eiffel Tower first opened its doors in 1889, four restaurants graced the first floor, powered by gas lighting and boasting kitchens situated beneath them. However, these original establishments were demolished for the 1937 International Exposition. Two restaurants were rebuilt, and later, during the 1980s, they were renovated and renamed La Belle France and Le Parisien, becoming must-visit destinations in Paris.

The culinary scene at the Eiffel Tower took another turn when these two restaurants were merged into a grand brasserie, designed by Slavik and Loup, and inspired by the theme of hot air balloons. This establishment, aptly named Altitude 95, stood 95 meters above sea level, offering panoramic views of the City of Lights.

A Modern Transformation: 58 Tour Eiffel

The restaurant underwent another significant transformation in 2009, receiving a chic makeover and a new name: 58 Tour Eiffel. This revamp was masterminded by Patrick Jouin, who also designed the interiors of the Jules Verne restaurant, another renowned eatery on the Eiffel Tower. This stylish brasserie now boasts a modern ambiance, with contemporary decor and minimalist furnishings that complement the breathtaking views.

Gourmet Experiences: From Picnic Lunch to Luxurious Dinner

Chef Alain Soulard, who previously collaborated with the renowned Alain Ducasse, curates the menu at 58 Tour Eiffel. He specializes in crafting exceptional French cuisine for both casual meals and special events.

For a relaxed and delightful lunch experience, the 58 Tour Eiffel offers a unique picnic-style service. From 11:30 AM to 4:30 PM, guests can indulge in a two-course or three-course meal, served in a charming basket at the counter, making for an unforgettable picnic amidst the Eiffel Tower’s grandeur.

In the evening, the atmosphere transforms, creating a sophisticated ambiance with soft lighting and a contemporary design. The restaurant offers two seating times, at 6:30 PM and 9 PM, but reservations are highly recommended. The evening menu boasts a selection of classic French cuisine, with dishes like seared tiger prawn, duck foie gras, seared salmon fillet, and roasted leg of lamb, each prepared with exceptional care and presented beautifully.

Special Occasions at 58 Tour Eiffel

For special celebrations, the restaurant offers a range of menus to cater to diverse tastes and budgets. The Opera Menu, starting at €70 per person, includes a starter, main course, dessert, and a glass of champagne. For a truly luxurious experience, the Service Premier, available during the 9 PM seating, provides privileged seating in the main dining room and a tasting menu featuring an aperitif, starter, two main courses, dessert, mignardises, wine, mineral water, and coffee. The Service Premier can be enjoyed for €135 per person, or €155 per person with window seating.
