The Eiffel Tower is not just a symbol of Paris, it’s a destination for delicious food! Since its opening in 1889, the tower’s dining options have evolved alongside the city itself. Today, we’re taking a trip to the 58 Tour Eiffel, a chic brasserie offering a unique Parisian experience.
From Four Restaurants to One Chic Brasserie
Imagine four bustling restaurants, each with its own kitchen fueled by gaslight, filling the first floor of the Eiffel Tower in 1889! This is the picture of the tower’s earliest dining scene. This was followed by two restaurants built for the 1937 International Exposition. Then, in the 1980s, the Eiffel Tower underwent major renovations, leading to the creation of La Belle France and Le Parisien, two restaurants considered must-visits in Paris.
But the changes didn’t stop there! In 2009, these two restaurants were merged into one, creating the Altitude 95. This large brasserie, designed by Slavik and Loup, embraced the theme of hot air balloons, fittingly located 95 meters above sea level.
The Altitude 95’s transformation continued, culminating in a complete renovation in 2009. This marked the birth of the 58 Tour Eiffel, a chic brasserie with a new name and a modern design by Patrick Jouin, the designer behind the interiors of the Jules Verne restaurant.
Picnic-Style Lunches and Chic Evening Dinners
The 58 Tour Eiffel offers two distinct dining experiences: a relaxed picnic-style lunch and a sophisticated evening dinner.

A Taste of Parisian Cuisine
The 58 Tour Eiffel’s menus are a testament to Parisian cuisine, boasting delicious dishes created by chef Alain Soulard, who honed his skills working with Alain Ducasse at the Jules Verne and other renowned restaurants. Alain Soulard’s commitment to top-quality French cuisine shines through in the dishes he creates for both lunch and dinner.
For lunch, you can indulge in classic Parisian dishes, such as Caesar salad, parmesan and caper berry starter, seared bonito tuna, mashed potatoes and sauce vierge, or roasted poultry risotto and cream of mushrooms. For dessert, you can savor the Crousti Eiffel cake with praline and chocolate. There’s even a dedicated children’s menu for those under 12.
Evening dinners offer a more refined experience. Start with starters like seared tiger prawn, avocado, soya and sesame dressing or duck foie gras, red onions marmalade, honey and balsamic. For the main course, enjoy seared salmon fillet, carrots and green peas with white butter sauce or oven roasted leg of lamb, Anna potatoes, artichokes, and real jus (juices).
