A Culinary Journey High Above Paris: Exploring the 58 Tour Eiffel

The Eiffel Tower, a symbol of Paris, is not only a stunning architectural masterpiece but also a gastronomic destination offering diverse dining experiences. From its inception in 1889, the Tower has housed numerous restaurants, each reflecting a different era and culinary style.

A History of Culinary Evolution

The Eiffel Tower’s culinary journey started with four restaurants on the first floor, their kitchens powered by gaslight. As the years passed, the Tower’s restaurants underwent numerous transformations. The 1937 international exposition saw the original four restaurants replaced with just two. Later, during extensive renovations in the 1980s, these were revamped and named La Belle France and Le Parisien, quickly gaining recognition as must-visit dining establishments in Paris.

The 1990s saw the merging of these two restaurants into a grand brasserie, designed by Slavik and Loup, with a captivating hot air balloon theme. This new establishment, aptly named Altitude 95, took its name from its elevation of 95 meters above sea level.

In 2009, the brasserie underwent another complete transformation, emerging as the 58 Tour Eiffel, a chic and modern venue. Patrick Jouin, renowned for his work on the Jules Verne restaurant, designed the elegant interior, creating a captivating atmosphere.

A Feast for the Senses: Daytime Delight and Evening Elegance

The 58 Tour Eiffel offers a dual dining experience, catering to different tastes and occasions.

During the day, picnic-style lunches take center stage, offering a delightful and casual experience. From 11:30 am to 4:30 pm, guests can enjoy a non-stop service with two- or three-course options.

The chic picnic theme is meticulously carried out, with meals presented in baskets for a unique touch. The menu, designed by Chef Alain Soulard, a culinary virtuoso who has worked with the renowned Alain Ducasse, features high-quality French cuisine.

As the sun sets, the 58 Tour Eiffel transforms into a sophisticated evening haven, offering an elegant dining experience. Guests are welcomed by a hostess and guided to their tables, where they can savor classic French cuisine in a captivating setting.

A Culinary Adventure: From Lunch to Dinner

The 58 Tour Eiffel’s culinary journey is a delightful exploration of flavors and textures.

For lunch, diners can choose from an array of tempting dishes, including Caesar salad, parmesan and caper berry starter, seared bonito tuna, mashed potatoes and sauce vierge, or roasted poultry risotto with cream of mushrooms. For dessert, the Crousti Eiffel cake with praline and chocolate is a delightful treat.

And for those with little ones, a dedicated children’s menu offers delicious options, ensuring a delightful culinary experience for the entire family.

The dinner menu offers a more sophisticated selection, with dishes like seared tiger prawn, avocado, soya and sesame dressing, or duck foie gras, red onions marmalade, honey and balsamic for starters. Seared salmon fillet, carrots and green peas with white butter sauce, or oven roasted leg of lamb, Anna potatoes, artichokes and real jus are among the main course options.

A Special Occasion, a Memorable Experience

For special occasions, the 58 Tour Eiffel presents a range of options to elevate the dining experience. The Opera menu, starting from €70 per person, features a three-course meal with a glass of champagne.

For those seeking a truly exclusive experience, the Service Premier, available at the 9 pm seating, offers privileged seating in the main dining room and a tasting menu that includes an aperitif, starter, two main courses, dessert, mignardises, wine, mineral water, and coffee.

This luxurious option, starting from €135 per person, can be further enhanced by window seating with panoramic views of the Trocadero, for an additional cost of €20 per person.

The children’s menu extends to the Service Premier, offering even the youngest guests a chance to enjoy a memorable culinary experience.

Planning Your Visit: Essential Information

While reservations are not required for lunch, you will need to have purchased a ticket to ascend the Eiffel Tower to access the restaurant. For dinner, reservations are essential, and they can be made online through the official Eiffel Tower website.

The 58 Tour Eiffel offers a unique and memorable dining experience, combining the iconic setting of the Eiffel Tower with a sophisticated culinary journey for every taste and occasion. Whether you’re seeking a casual picnic-style lunch or a lavish evening meal, this culinary gem guarantees an unforgettable Parisian experience.
