A Culinary Journey to the Top: Dining at 58 Tour Eiffel

The Eiffel Tower, a Parisian icon, has always offered visitors breathtaking views and unique dining experiences. Its culinary history dates back to the tower’s opening in 1889, when four restaurants graced the first floor, powered by gas-lit kitchens. However, the dining scene underwent significant transformations over the years.

A History of Transformation

For the 1937 International Exposition, the four original restaurants were demolished and replaced with just two, which were later renovated and rebranded as La Belle France and Le Parisien in the 1980s. This period marked a shift towards showcasing Parisian culinary excellence.

But the evolution didn’t stop there. In 1990, these two restaurants were merged into a grand brasserie called Altitude 95, designed by Slavik and Loup with a whimsical hot air balloon theme, reflecting its lofty location 95 meters above sea level.

This brasserie received a complete makeover in 2009, emerging with a new chic design and a new name: 58 Tour Eiffel. This transformation was spearheaded by Patrick Jouin, who also designed the interiors of the renowned Jules Verne restaurant.

Picnic-Style Lunch with Parisian Flair

58 Tour Eiffel offers a unique picnic-style lunch experience from 11:30 am to 4:30 pm. Guests can choose from two or three-course menus served at the counter in baskets, encouraging a relaxed and playful atmosphere. The menu features classic French cuisine, from Caesar salads and seared tuna to roasted poultry risotto, all crafted by Chef Alain Soulard, known for his work with the acclaimed Alain Ducasse. There’s even a dedicated children’s menu to ensure everyone enjoys the dining adventure.

Elevated Evenings at 58 Tour Eiffel

As the sun sets, 58 Tour Eiffel transforms into a sophisticated evening dining destination. The contemporary décor, soft lighting, and minimalist furniture, all designed by Patrick Jouin, create an ambiance of luxury without detracting from the breathtaking views.

For an evening at 58 Tour Eiffel, reservations are required for one of two seating times: 6:30 pm or 9:00 pm. Guests are greeted by a hostess and escorted to their tables, where they can enjoy an array of chic French cuisine served with elegance and precision.

A Culinary Journey for Every Taste

The evening menus at 58 Tour Eiffel are varied and tempting, ranging from the Opera menu starting at €70 per person with a glass of champagne, to the Service Premier, offering a tasting menu with an aperitif, two main courses, dessert, and wine, at €135 per person. For a special occasion, consider the Service Premier, with its privileged seating in the main dining room or a coveted window table overlooking the Trocadero.

Whether you choose a picnic-style lunch or a sophisticated dinner, 58 Tour Eiffel offers a unique and memorable dining experience. With its spectacular views, diverse menus, and exceptional service, it’s truly a destination that blends culinary artistry with the iconic grandeur of the Eiffel Tower.
