A Culinary Renaissance: From the Ground Up

The Eiffel Tower is no stranger to change. In 2018, they focused on strengthening security measures and revitalizing the tower’s gardens. Now, they’re taking things to a whole new level with a complete overhaul of their food offerings. This exciting project is guided by a commitment to highlighting the best of Parisian and French gastronomy, ensuring that every visitor can savor the finest flavors of the City of Lights.

The driving force behind this culinary revolution is Umanis, the new concessionaire, led by a team of renowned culinary experts. Michelin-starred chefs Frédéric Anton (3 stars) and Thierry Marx (2 stars) have joined forces to deliver an experience that elevates every aspect of the Eiffel Tower’s food scene. From reimagined dining spaces to innovative menus and a renewed focus on environmental and social responsibility, the new offerings promise to leave a lasting impression on every visitor.

The Jules Verne: Paris’s New Culinary Destination

Prepare to be wowed by the reimagined Jules Verne, a true Parisian culinary gem. Under the expert guidance of three-star chef Frédéric Anton, this legendary restaurant is set to reopen its doors in summer 2019. Anton’s mission is clear: transform the Jules Verne into Paris’s must-visit gastronomic destination.

The journey begins at the ground level with a newly redesigned entrance and a private elevator, setting the stage for an extraordinary culinary adventure. Once you reach the second floor, you’ll be greeted by a stunning new interior, designed by the talented architect Aline Asmar d’Amman. The Brasserie: Parisian Charm with a Modern Twist

Located on the first floor of the Tower, the Brasserie (formerly known as 58 Tour Eiffel) is undergoing its own transformation under the direction of two-starred chef Thierry Marx. The Brasserie’s architectural rebirth is a collaborative effort, led by Ramy Fischler, 2018 Designer of the Year and founder of RF Studio, and Nicola Delon, co-founder of the Encore Heureux collective. This two-level project will transform the space into a series of “islands” offering expansive views and showcasing the tower’s original structure.

Marx’s vision for the Brasserie is “universal.” He plans to offer a classic Parisian bistro cuisine that celebrates simple, high-quality ingredients. The Brasserie will also be committed to environmental and social responsibility, sourcing locally-produced ingredients within a 200km radius of Paris and minimizing waste. A Taste of the Eiffel Tower: Take Away Delights on Every Floor

From the Esplanade to the top of the Tower, the Eiffel Tower experience is about to become even more flavorful and innovative. Starting in April 2019, a variety of sales and tasting points will be popping up throughout the landmark.

On the Esplanade, you’ll find delicious Eiffel Tower cones, both savory and sweet, perfect for enjoying on the go. Food tricycles will also be making their rounds, offering seasonal snacks like Parisian hot dogs, detox bars, soup or ice cream, and sweets. Forget about long lines at the kiosks! “Bees” will be buzzing around the Esplanade, taking orders for pancakes or waffles, accepting payment, and delivering your treats right to you.

On the first floor, the old buffet will be transformed into a traditional Parisian bistro, the Eiffel Tower Bistro. From December 2019, the bistro will be offering take away sandwiches by Thierry Marx during the day, followed by sit-down dinners in the evening featuring local dishes.

On the second floor, sweet and savory “Comptoir” stands will be offering exclusive and colorful take away options, including mini sandwiches, pastries, original pastries from the Guilde des artisans, macarons, and more.

At the top, the Champagne Bar is expanding this spring, creating a capsule-like space between earth and sky at 905 feet above the ground, offering champagne and French caviar for a truly timeless experience.

A Commitment to Local Craft and Sustainability

The Eiffel Tower’s culinary revolution is not just about delicious food; it’s also about connecting with local artisans and preserving the environment. Umanis, the new concessionaire, has partnered with Sodexo and three key shareholders: Michelin-starred chef Frédéric Anton (for the Jules Verne), Michelin-starred chef Thierry Marx (for the first-floor Brasserie), and Ubudu, a specialist in visitor flow management.

Together, they have created the “Guilde des artisans” (Guild of Craftsmen), a network of Parisian and Ile-de-France food artisans renowned for their remarkable skills and eco-responsible practices. The guild’s local and seasonal products, chosen by a jury chaired by Chef Thierry Marx, will be offered to the tower’s six million annual visitors. This commitment to connecting local artisans with the most iconic monument in Paris showcases the best of local craftsmanship and contributes to the economic and social well-being of the community.

Get ready for an unforgettable culinary adventure at the Eiffel Tower! From Michelin-starred dining to take away treats, the tower is poised to offer a delicious experience for everyone. So, book your visit today and prepare to savor the best of Parisian gastronomy.
