Beware! This so-called hotel is a nightmare waiting to happen. I booked a luxurious Concorde executive suite three weeks in advance, only to be told the night before my arrival that they had “double booked” the room and I would be downgraded to a smaller Eiffel room.
This was just the beginning of my troubles. The hotel, which is actually just a collection of apartments, was incredibly difficult to find. The code I was given didn’t work, forcing me to wait outside for two hours. The apartment itself looked nothing like the pictures, it was dark, dirty and downright depressing.
Things went from bad to worse. After finally getting access, I was told I couldn’t check in until 3 pm and had to leave my luggage. When I returned, the owner was sitting in the reception, extremely rude and condescending. The “suite” I had been promised was a small, dingy room, far from what was advertised. There were marks on the walls, the door was damaged, and overall, it was just a terrible experience.
When I tried to complain and ask for a refund, the owner was dismissive and told me to go stay at the Four Seasons. He refused to give me my money back and essentially kicked me out on the street.
This is not a hotel, it’s a scam. Do yourself a favor and stay far, far away from this place. You will regret it.
A Mixed Experience: Ibis Sacre Coeur – More Good than Bad?
This hotel offers a mixed bag of experiences. It’s a bit of a gamble whether you’ll have a good stay or a terrible one.
Let’s start with the positives. The staff was friendly and helpful, especially the receptionist who greeted us upon arrival. He was incredibly polite and even gave us some recommendations for local restaurants.
The location is also a plus. The hotel is on a busy street but it’s close to public transportation, shops, and restaurants. Although, be aware that walking to the Moulin Rouge takes you through a rather seedy area.
Now for the downsides. The rooms themselves don’t quite match the pictures. They are smaller than expected and while they look clean, they have a grubby feel. We also encountered problems with the bathroom door, the hairdryer, and the air conditioning.
Breakfast was okay, but the service was inconsistent. The lady serving on the first two mornings was not very friendly or helpful. Additionally, the hotel staff struggled to provide basic services, like booking a taxi. Overall, the experience left us feeling that the hotel is outdated, rundown, and in need of a lot of TLC.
A Gem in Paris: A Wonderful Stay at Hôtel du Nord Bercy
This hotel is a true gem in the heart of Paris! It’s located in a charming area with great shops and restaurants just across the square in Bercy Village. The Saint Cour Emillion metro station on line 14 is a short walk away, making it easy to explore the city.
The staff at Hôtel du Nord Bercy was outstanding. They were incredibly helpful and accommodating, even arranging for our family to have two rooms together. The room with a balcony was a highlight, offering stunning views of the Eiffel Tower, especially at night.
The breakfast was exceptional, with a wide variety of options, including hot cooked food, fresh fruit, and pastries. There was something for everyone, and the quality was top-notch.
Overall, the hotel exceeded our expectations. It was clean, well-maintained, and offered exceptional service. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a fantastic stay in Paris.
