Imagine strolling past massive queues for the lift, feeling a sense of satisfaction as you join a smaller group, headed towards a special dinner experience. That’s exactly how we felt as we embarked on our Parisian adventure, ready to savor the magic of dining at the iconic Eiffel Tower.
Our hearts raced with anticipation as we ascended to the first floor, eager to indulge in French wine, exquisite cuisine, and a romantic setting. The iconic wrought iron structure, towering above us, heightened our excitement. We were captivated by the bustling energy in the restaurant’s exclusive lift, as everyone jostled for a glimpse of Paris, eager to soak in the ambiance of our dining destination.
Anticipation mingled with a touch of impatience as we approached the grand double doors, ready to be whisked away to our table. The doors swung open at precisely 6:30 p.m., revealing a beautifully arranged restaurant spread across two levels. We were immediately struck by the efficient organization, with tour groups carefully placed in a separate area, leaving intimate tables for two and four to enjoy a more private dining experience.
58 Tour Eiffel offers a range of pre-booked dinner options, ranging in price from $118 to $165, depending on your desired table location and whether wine is included. We were lucky that our mid-priced booking, which promised ‘privileged seating in the main room,’ granted us a magnificent view of the Trocadéro, just one row back from the window.
The overall ambiance of the restaurant at night can be best described as an elegant brasserie, enhanced by the stunning beauty of the City of Lights. Minimalist furnishings and soft lighting create a sophisticated setting, allowing the view to take center stage.
With two two-hour seatings per night, 58 Tour Eiffel operates with military precision. Our friendly waiter managed to create the illusion of leisurely dining, even in this fast-paced environment.
The feast began with a welcoming glass of Champagne, followed by a delightful entrée of spiced king prawns, artfully presented atop a vibrant mix of avocado, grapefruit, and sweet edible blooms. This dish surpassed our expectations, exceeding the typical fare found in many tourist-focused restaurants.
Our taste buds were further delighted by the roast herbed guinea fowl breast, served with mashed potato, green asparagus, and mushroom cream. This quintessentially French dish was equally impressive, as was my husband’s choice of grilled lamb.
We savored a brief respite before indulging in the rich chocolate marquise for dessert, giving us time to soak in the breathtaking view and enjoy another glass of wine. Our evening culminated with a trip to the top of the Eiffel Tower, a must-do for any Paris visitor.
The food and service exceeded our expectations, making this iconic dining experience truly unforgettable.
