A Parisian Dream Come True: Our Stay at Hôtel la Comtesse

Paris, the City of Lights, is a place that ignites the imagination and sits high on many travel bucket lists. But even in the most romantic city, choosing the right hotel can make or break your experience. With thousands of options available, finding the perfect place to call home for a few days can be a daunting task. But fear not, we’ve found a gem – Hôtel la Comtesse Paris Tour Eiffel, and we’re here to share why it’s the ideal choice for your Parisian escapade.

Finding Our Parisian Sanctuary

We knew we wanted to experience the heart of Paris, particularly the iconic landmarks of the Vieux Cité without the hassle of renting a car. This led us to the Arrondissements (neighborhoods) flanking the River Seine, promising easy access to the city’s most celebrated attractions. Our perfect hotel awaited somewhere between the Arc de Triomphe and the Latin Quarter.

A view of the Eiffel Tower, our ultimate wish, guided our search. We scoured the internet, navigating a labyrinth of Parisian hotels. As expected, hotels close to the Eiffel Tower came with hefty price tags. The further out we ventured, the more budget-friendly the options became. Surprisingly, the view from a distance could be just as captivating, if not more so.

Hôtel la Comtesse: Where Paris Comes Alive

This is how we discovered Hôtel la Comtesse Paris Tour Eiffel, a true Parisian treasure. Located just a stone’s throw from the Champ de Mars, the sprawling lawn in front of the Eiffel Tower, this hotel is a prime location for exploring the city’s wonders. Within a short walk, you’ll find yourself immersed in the magic of iconic Parisian landmarks, yet tucked away in a charmingly local neighborhood – a perfect blend of Parisian ambiance and ease of access.

A Boutique Hotel with Parisian Charm

Hôtel la Comtesse is a boutique hotel with a limited number of rooms and suites, each boasting an elegant 18th Century flair. The Hausmannian building, typical of Parisian architecture, offers breathtaking views from its wedge-shaped design, particularly from the rooms at the “bottom” of the V. However, these prime spots are coveted and tend to book up quickly.

Stepping into the lobby is like stepping into a historic Parisian literary parlor of the 18th Century. Gazing upwards, you’ll be captivated by the beautiful frescoes adorning the ceiling. Test your French with a selection from the bookshelf, or simply settle into a comfy chair and watch the Parisian scene unfold outside the window.

Parisian Amenities at Your Fingertips

Adjoining the lobby is the La Comtesse Café, boasting windows on two sides and a sidewalk terrace offering an unforgettable view of the Eiffel Tower. Downstairs, a small gym and sauna await, perfect for a relaxing workout or rejuvenating break.

A Parisian Room with a View (Sort Of)

We chose the Marquise Room, la Comtesse’s name for a Superior Double room offering a side view of the Eiffel Tower. Since the building is shaped like a V pointing towards the Eiffel Tower, rooms on either side of the V get a side view. While not the full-frontal view we’d hoped for, it was still a delightful sight to behold. Considering the limited time spent in the room, a full view isn’t necessarily a must, unless it’s a top priority for you.

The room itself was small, but that’s typical of Parisian hotel rooms. While the two small closets were sufficient for a short stay, space for suitcases was limited. A desk, two chairs, and a queen-sized bed filled the room, providing a comfortable haven for a Parisian getaway.

The bathroom was surprisingly spacious but lacked counter space. The large sink took up valuable real estate, but the fully tiled bathroom offered a modern touch. The open shower, common in modern hotels, had a tendency to create a wet and slippery floor. The towel warmer, a welcome feature in the colder months, provided much-needed comfort.

In-room amenities included a coffee maker, a safe large enough for a laptop, and cable TV. The exceptional staff ensured a steady supply of towels, toiletries, and coffee, catering to every need.

A Delightful Parisian Breakfast

The café offers a help-yourself breakfast featuring pastries, cheese, meats, yogurt, and fruit. Hidden gems include made-to-order eggs and the traditional hot croissants, a Parisian must-have. The coffee maker, allowing guests to brew their own hot beverages, was a favorite feature. A few button pushes were all it took to enjoy a variety of hot drinks, from espresso to tea, hot chocolate to mocha lattes.

Parisian Moments to Cherish

While the entire city of Paris lay just outside the window, one of the most memorable moments of our trip was spending each morning enjoying a cappuccino at the café, gazing upon the Eiffel Tower. This was Parisian life at its finest – a moment of simple pleasure that will forever be etched in our memories.

A Staff That Makes You Feel at Home

As with any hotel, the staff can make or break your experience. At Hôtel la Comtesse, we were thoroughly impressed by the exceptional staff. They welcomed us with open arms and made us feel like valued guests. Their kindness, helpfulness, and professionalism were evident in every interaction. Whether offering directions, recommending a restaurant, or providing travel tips, they went above and beyond to ensure a memorable stay.

A Parisian Experience You Won’t Forget

Our stay at Hôtel la Comtesse was a truly unforgettable experience, filled with Parisian charm and an exceptional staff. While some may find the room size a bit snug, it’s a common reality in Paris. The pros far outweigh the cons, which were mostly minor annoyances.

Without hesitation, we highly recommend Hôtel la Comtesse to anyone seeking a unique and delightful Parisian experience. We would return in a heartbeat, eager to once again immerse ourselves in the magic of Paris from the comfort of this charming hotel.
