Le Meurice, a legendary hotel in the heart of Paris, has always been synonymous with luxury and refinement. This grand dame of the hotel world, which has hosted dignitaries, artists, and celebrities alike, is undergoing a major transformation. As part of this ambitious project, the hotel has unveiled its crème de la crème: the Belle Etoile penthouse suite, a breathtaking masterpiece that embodies the spirit of Paris.
A Historic Hotel, A Modern Masterpiece
Standing just steps from the Louvre, Le Meurice has witnessed centuries of history. The hotel’s commitment to preserving its heritage is evident in the meticulous renovation of its 160 rooms and suites. Belle Etoile, located on the seventh floor, was originally envisioned as a summer restaurant but has been reborn as a stunning duplex suite. This magnificent space, spanning an astounding 6,700 square feet, offers unparalleled views of the City of Lights.
A Parisian Oasis in the Sky
The suite’s private terrace, measuring 3,200 square feet, is a breathtaking sanctuary. Inspired by the Tuileries Garden, it’s a verdant oasis where guests can enjoy the Parisian skyline in all its glory. The 360-degree panoramic views encompass iconic landmarks such as the Louvre, Place Vendôme, the Invalides, the Musée d’Orsay, and the ever-twinkling Eiffel Tower. The feeling of being alone in Paris with the city at your feet is truly magical.
A Dialogue With Paris
Lyon-based design studio Lally and Berger, in collaboration with Ateliers Jouffre, took inspiration from the Parisian sky and the surrounding cityscape. The color palette, dominated by blue-greys and greyish greens, creates a sense of harmony and tranquility. Botanical references are woven throughout the suite, with a spiral staircase adorned with a branch motif and a chandelier featuring glass palmettes.
Opulence and Modernity
Belle Etoile is a perfect blend of 18th-century grandeur and modern elegance. The suite features marble thresholds, a chevron-patterned parquet, gilded touches, embroidered broadcloth curtains, and reinterpreted 18th-century faux marble skirting boards. Yet, it’s seamlessly integrated with state-of-the-art technology, including Apple TV, a Bang & Olufsen theatre system, and LED lighting.
A Masterpiece in Marble
The master bathroom, a highlight of the suite, is a sanctuary of luxury. Encircled by windows on three sides, it offers breathtaking views of Montmartre and the Sacré-Coeur. A decadent circular Jacuzzi, complemented by new brass and bronze details, invites guests to indulge in a state of blissful relaxation. It’s the bathroom of your dreams, and perhaps even more.
Belle Etoile at Le Meurice is a testament to the timeless allure of Paris. It’s an experience that will stay with you long after you leave.
