Paris is renowned for its charming boutique hotels, and I’ve recently discovered a new favorite: the 4-star Hotel Original Paris. Even better, they’re now open after the recent lockdown!
This hotel is a gem, especially if you’re looking for a unique and stylish stay in Paris. My family and I were lucky enough to visit Paris during a school break. My eldest daughter had exams, so I decided to take my two younger daughters out of the house for a few days. Luckily, I found some incredible Eurostar deals for just £29 per ticket, and I used my United Airlines points to book our hotel.
While browsing hotel options, I stumbled upon the Hotel Original Paris, located at the edge of the Marias, one of my favorite areas in Paris. I immediately booked it—and what a fantastic find it was!
A Delightful Hotel with a Unique Charm
The Hotel Original Paris stands out on Boulevard Beaumarche with its stunning purple facade and lavender lighting. It’s centrally located near Place de la Bastille, the Marais Quarter, and Place des Vosges. This area is a personal favorite of mine, with stylish shops, museums, parks, beautiful architecture, and iconic monuments. It’s also a lively and eclectic neighborhood brimming with cafes and restaurants.
This hotel is a far cry from bland corporate hotels. It’s one of those cool and quirky Parisian gems with a welcoming staff. Designed by Stella Cadente, the hotel embraces a theme of “fantasy and poetry.” The elegant design blends original features, extravagant materials, and surprising touches—one room even boasts a bathtub in the center!
Comfortable Rooms with Stylish Decor
We booked a triple room and were upgraded to a spacious quad room featuring a king-sized bed and two twin beds cleverly separated by a curtain. This was perfect for me to wake up early and work without disturbing my daughters.
The room, which felt like an “Alice in Wonderland” dream, was tastefully decorated with lavender walls, black and white striped armchairs, a small desk with a red velvet chair, and a black lacquer built-in wardrobe. The beds were incredibly comfortable with crisp white sheets. My only minor complaint was a plastic liner under the fitted sheet that made a slight noise when moving around. But after learning about the recent bed bug issue in Paris, I understood why they were necessary!
Luxurious Amenities and Spa Treatments
The bathroom was absolutely lovely, featuring black and white ceramic tiles, fluffy terrycloth bathrobes and slippers, and a rain shower. I was completely blown away by the toiletries, which felt like stepping into a French pharmacy (a truly delightful experience!). The brand, Uriage eau Thermale, was new to me, and I’m now obsessed with it and trying to find it in the UK. The separate toilet was a bonus with three of us in the room.
The hotel boasts a wellness room where guests can book massages, and there’s also a fabulous sauna. It’s impeccably maintained, comfortably fits 3-4 people, and has an adjoining shower stocked with the luxurious Uriage eau Thermale amenities. After a long day exploring Paris, we treated ourselves to a sauna session before heading out for dinner.
A Delightful Stay with Exceptional Service
The staff is incredibly attentive and welcoming, making you feel right at home in this original and refined setting. The hotel also offers a serene wellness area with a duo treatment room and sauna, creating an intimate and warm atmosphere. You can enjoy personalized treatments using natural and organic “Huygens Paris” products based on essential oils for maximum efficacy.
Breakfast is served daily from 7:00 to 11:00 and includes a hot drink, pastries, bread, yogurt, orange juice, cereal, and fresh fruit. The hotel also features an intimate lounge with a bar offering a variety of drinks. Free Wi-Fi works brilliantly, and coffee and tea are available from noon onwards. You’ll also find high-quality newspapers, including the New York Times. And I was impressed that the rooms were always at the perfect temperature—no more waking up hot or cold in the middle of the night! The hotel also has air conditioning, which would be a lifesaver in the summer.
The reception team, Fabien, Angela, and Charles, are absolutely fantastic! They are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, providing excellent advice on local attractions. We especially enjoyed their recommendation for a cat cafe!
