Imagine this: you’re strolling past long lines of eager tourists, feeling a hint of smugness as you join a smaller queue for a special dining experience. You’re headed for the first floor of the iconic Eiffel Tower, the promise of French wine, fine cuisine, and romance filling the air. But will it live up to the hype?
A Glittering Introduction
It’s impossible to resist the excitement as you step into the exclusive elevator, the wrought iron structure towering above you. Everyone is eager for a glimpse of Paris and the stunning dining venue that awaits. As the elevator doors open with a flourish, you’re greeted by a grand double entrance, revealing two levels filled with excited diners.
The View, the Food, and the Ambiance
The restaurant offers three pre-booked dinner options, each with its own price point. Our experience with the mid-priced “privileged seating” offered a breathtaking view of the Trocadéro, just as good as the most expensive tables.
The ambiance is a delightful blend of elegance and Parisian charm. Minimalist furnishings and soft lighting enhance the view of the City of Lights, creating a romantic and sophisticated atmosphere.
A Feast for the Senses
The service is impeccable, even with two two-hour seatings per night. Our friendly waiter made us feel like we had all the time in the world, starting with a welcome glass of Champagne.
The entrée of spiced king prawns, served with avocado, grapefruit, and edible blooms, surprised us with its sophistication and freshness.
The main course was a classic French delight: roast herbed guinea fowl breast, served with mashed potato, green asparagus, and mushroom cream. My husband opted for the grilled lamb, equally delicious and perfectly cooked.
The Final Touch
Dessert was a decadent chocolate marquise, perfectly complementing the rich flavors of the evening. We enjoyed the stunning view and another glass of wine before heading to the top of the Eiffel Tower for a final glimpse of the city.
