A Quirky Parisian Paradise: Hotel Original Paris

Paris is renowned for its charming boutique hotels, and I’ve just discovered my new favorite: the 4-star Hotel Original Paris. It’s now open after lockdown, making it the perfect place to escape to. 😄

A Parisian Escape for the Family

We took a quick trip to Paris during half-term. My eldest daughter had exams right after the break, so I decided to whisk the younger girls away to give her some peace and quiet. We snagged amazing £29 Eurostar tickets and booked the hotel using my United points. While browsing hotel options, I stumbled upon Hotel Original Paris, nestled on the edge of the Marais – one of my favorite Parisian neighborhoods.

A Boutique Hotel with a Touch of Magic

I booked it immediately, and what a delightful find it was! Hotel Original Paris stands out on Boulevard Beaumarche with its stunning purple facade and enchanting lavender lighting. It’s conveniently located near Place de la Bastille, the Marais Quarter, and Place des Vosges, putting you right in the heart of one of Paris’ most vibrant areas. This neighborhood is a treasure trove of stylish boutiques, world-class museums, peaceful parks, breathtaking architecture, and famous monuments. It’s also a haven for foodies, with an abundance of charming cafes and restaurants.

Beyond the Ordinary: A Hotel with a Story

This is no ordinary corporate hotel. It’s one of those cool, quirky Parisian hotels with a friendly and welcoming staff. Designed by Stella Cadente, the hotel embraces a theme of “fantasy and poetry” and is elegantly designed with a mix of original features, luxurious materials, and unexpected surprises. One room even boasts a bathtub in the center!

Our Room: A Comfort Oasis in Paris

We booked a triple room, and were pleasantly surprised to receive an upgrade to a quad. This spacious room featured a king-size bed and two twin beds cleverly separated by a curtain. This came in handy, as I could wake up early to work without disturbing the girls.

The room was tastefully decorated with lavender walls, a black and white striped armchair, a small desk with a red velvet chair, and a built-in black lacquer wardrobe. The beds were incredibly comfortable with crisp white sheets. While I noticed a plastic liner beneath the fitted sheet, which made a bit of a rustling sound when moving around, I soon understood why this might be necessary after reading about the recent bed bug situation in Paris. 😄

A Bathroom Fit for Royalty

The bathroom was truly delightful, with black and white ceramic tiles, plush terrycloth bathrobes and slippers, and a luxurious rain shower. I was absolutely wowed by the toiletries. It was like stepping into a French pharmacy, which is one of my favorite experiences in Paris. The selection of high-end cosmetics always smells divine! The toiletries were from the brand Uriage eau Thermale, which I wasn’t familiar with before, but I’m now completely obsessed and trying to find it in the UK. The toilet was conveniently in a separate room, which was perfect for our family of three.

Relax and Rejuvenate

The hotel has its own wellness room where you can book massages. There’s also a fantastic sauna available for use. It’s impeccably maintained, easily accommodating 3-4 people, and has an adjoining shower stocked with those fabulous Uriage eau Thermale amenities. We treated ourselves to a relaxing sauna session after a day of exploring Paris, before heading out for dinner.

A Touch of French Luxury

Our attentive staff awaits you in this original, refined setting, where you can be sure of a warm, friendly welcome. The hotel also offers a wellness and relaxation area, featuring a duo treatment room and sauna in an intimate and welcoming atmosphere. This sanctuary provides a moment of serenity and soothing respite, with rituals and personalized treatments designed to pamper you, your skin, and your body. The treatments are made with French, natural, and organic “Huygens Paris” products, based on essential oils for maximum effectiveness.

Breakfast Fit for a King (or Queen!)

Breakfast is served from 7:00 to 11:00 and includes a hot drink, viennoiseries, bread, yogurt, orange juice, cereal, and fresh fruit. A delicious way to start your Parisian day!

A Welcoming Lounge

To make you feel right at home, our bar, with its selection of drinks, is at your disposal in our intimate Lounge.

Everything You Need and More

Free Wi-Fi is available and works flawlessly. You can also enjoy coffee and tea from noon onwards. Quality newspapers, including the New York Times (my favorite when I lived in the US), are provided. Oh, and I don’t know how they did it, but the rooms were always at the perfect temperature. I usually wake up either too hot or too cold, but their air conditioning ensures a comfortable sleep, especially during the summer months.

The #BestReceptionTeamEver

Fabien, Angela, and Charles are the absolute #BestReceptionTeamEver! They are fantastic at providing advice for local attractions. We especially loved their recommendation for the cat cafe!

My New Parisian Haven

Absolutely! I’ve found my new go-to place in Paris. It’s a small, quirky boutique hotel located between two amazing areas in Paris, reasonably priced, and absolutely gorgeous. What more could you ask for?
