The Eiffel Tower has always been known for its stunning views, but did you know it’s also home to a fantastic restaurant? 58 Tour Eiffel offers a unique dining experience, combining delicious French cuisine with breathtaking panoramas of Paris.

A History of Transformation

The restaurant at the top of the Eiffel Tower has had quite a journey. When the tower first opened in 1889, there were four restaurants on the first floor. The kitchens below were powered by gaslight, giving a glimpse into the technology of the time.

For the 1937 International Exposition, these restaurants were demolished, and only two were rebuilt. In the 1980s, during a major renovation, the tower got a new look, and the restaurants were renamed La Belle France and Le Parisien. They became well-known as must-visit spots in Paris.

However, change was in the air once again. The two restaurants merged into one large brasserie in the 1990s. Designed by Slavik and Loup, it took on a hot air balloon theme and was aptly named Altitude 95, as it sat 95 meters above sea level.

In 2009, the brasserie was renovated again, getting a chic new design and the name 58 Tour Eiffel. The design was overseen by Patrick Jouin, who also designed the interior of the Jules Verne restaurant.

Dining at 58 Tour Eiffel

58 Tour Eiffel offers both lunch and dinner, catering to a variety of tastes and budgets. The menu is curated by chef Alain Soulard, who brings years of experience working with renowned chef Alain Ducasse.

During the day, a chic picnic-style lunch is served. From 11:30 am to 4:30 pm, you can enjoy a two or three-course meal, with last orders for main courses at 3:45 pm. The food is presented in a basket, adding to the playful picnic theme.

Evenings at 58 Tour Eiffel are a different affair, with a refined ambiance. The contemporary décor, soft lighting, and minimalist furniture, all designed by Patrick Jouin, create an atmosphere of luxury without detracting from the stunning views.

There are two seating times for dinner, either 6:30 pm or 9 pm, and reservations are essential.

A Menu for Every Palate

The lunch menu features a selection of French classics and contemporary dishes. You might find tempting options like Caesar salad, seared bonito tuna, roasted poultry risotto, and delicious desserts like the Crousti Eiffel cake.

For a special occasion, the evening menu offers a more sophisticated dining experience. There are various menu options to choose from, ranging from a starter, main course, and dessert with a glass of champagne to a tasting menu.

Children are also well catered to with a separate menu. For those under 12 years old, there’s a reduced price menu, and for those who are lucky enough to have the Service Premier, there’s even a chocolate cake in the shape of the Eiffel Tower!

To access 58 Tour Eiffel, you will need to purchase tickets to ascend the Eiffel Tower, even if you have a dinner reservation. You can easily make bookings online through the official Eiffel Tower website.
