Climbing to the top of the Eiffel Tower is a must-do for any visitor to Paris. My husband and I experienced the thrill of ascending this iconic landmark. We opted for the stairs to the second level, then took the elevator to the summit. It was a little cheaper than taking the elevator all the way up, and we enjoyed the chance to stretch our legs and soak in the atmosphere at the first level.
Be prepared for a breezy and cool temperature at the top, so bring a sweater! The views were breathtaking, especially as the sun began to set. The tower lit up, glittering against the twilight sky, creating a magical ambiance.
Our tip: Purchase your tickets in advance to avoid long lines. We booked tickets for the second level in peak season and arrived 20 minutes ahead of our scheduled time. Although there was a line, it wasn’t too bad, and we were able to enter at our booked time.
Don’t forget to bring a few euros for the binoculars! They’re a great way to get a closer look at the stunning Parisian landscape.
Exploring the City of Lights
Paris is a city that captivates the senses. We walked through the cobblestone streets, admiring the beautiful architecture and the lively atmosphere of the open markets and cafes. We felt transported to another era, appreciating the city’s rich history and culture. The residents of Paris exude a sense of pride in their city, and it’s clear they’re passionate about preserving its heritage.
Take your time and explore the city’s hidden treasures. We found joy in visiting the Jardin du Luxembourg and indulging in carousel rides with the kids. If you’re looking for a fantastic panorama of Paris, consider heading to the top of the Ferris wheel in the Jardin des Tuileries, rather than waiting in line for the Eiffel Tower.
Don’t be afraid to strike up conversations with the locals. While English is widely spoken, learning a few basic French phrases will go a long way in making your experience more authentic.
Make the most of the city’s vibrant nightlife. As the sun sets, the city transforms into a magical wonderland. The Eiffel Tower sparkles against the night sky, creating an unforgettable spectacle.
For a truly Parisian experience, enjoy a bottle of wine with cheese and crackers on the grass beneath the Eiffel Tower. The ambiance is unmatched, with couples and families alike soaking in the romantic atmosphere. The Olympics were just around the corner during our visit, so there were lots of fences up. But it was still a magical experience.
