Imagine this: you’re strolling past massive lines of people eager to ascend the iconic Eiffel Tower. But you, my friend, are part of a select few heading straight to a top-notch dining experience on the first floor. This isn’t just any restaurant; it’s 58 Tour Eiffel, offering a taste of Parisian elegance with breathtaking views.
Feeling a little smug? We certainly did! We were about to embark on an evening of French delights, hoping for a romantic rendezvous with delicious food and exquisite wine. But the possibility of a touristic trap loomed – could we be in for a culinary nightmare?
The excitement was palpable as we stepped into the exclusive elevator. Every passenger was glued to the windows, eager to witness Paris unfolding beneath us. The air was thick with expectation and anticipation as we entered the grand dining room.
Stepping into a grand space, we were greeted by a flourish of double doors and a sea of people. Tables were arranged across two levels, with organized tour groups occupying their designated areas. Intimate tables for two and four were thoughtfully placed for a more personal dining experience.
58 Tour Eiffel offers three pre-booked dinner options, ranging from $118 to $165, each with its own allure. Our mid-priced choice landed us a “privileged seating” in the main room, boasting the same spectacular Trocadéro view as the most expensive tables. Talk about luck!
The restaurant’s ambiance was an elegant blend of classic Parisian charm and modern minimalism. Soft lighting and simple furnishings created a serene atmosphere, allowing the spectacular city views to take center stage.
With two two-hour seatings per night, the restaurant ran with military precision. Our friendly waiter, however, managed to make us feel like we had all the time in the world.
Our tastebuds were tantalized by a welcome glass of Champagne before the arrival of our entrée – spiced king prawns perched atop a colorful medley of avocado, grapefruit, and edible flowers. This was a pleasant surprise! The dish, far exceeding our expectations, proved that this wasn’t your average tourist trap.
Our main course, a perfectly cooked roast herbed guinea fowl breast, was quintessentially French. The mashed potato, green asparagus, and mushroom cream were a symphony of flavors. My husband’s grilled lamb was equally impressive.
A decadent chocolate marquise for dessert capped off our meal. A final glass of wine was enjoyed alongside the breathtaking views, before we ventured to the top of the Eiffel Tower – a fitting end to our evening.
58 Tour Eiffel exceeded our expectations, delivering a memorable dining experience that was both delicious and romantic. From the exceptional food to the impressive service, everything felt perfectly orchestrated. The iconic setting simply added to the magic of the evening.
