Ah, Paris! The City of Lights is known for its stunning architecture, world-class art, and romantic ambiance… but did you know it also boasts some of the most delicious brunch and breakfast spots in the world? 🌎 As a passionate foodie, I’m here to share my favorite Parisian cafes and restaurants that will make your mornings unforgettable.
A Word of Caution: Parisians love brunch, and these popular spots tend to get crowded, especially on weekends. My top tip? Visit during the week or arrive early on Saturday and Sunday, before 11:30 am, to avoid long lines. 😉
Parisian Brunch: A Feast for the Senses
Parisian brunch is a delightful experience! Often served as a buffet or a set menu for around €25-€35, it offers a tantalizing array of flavors and textures. However, if you’re not feeling particularly hungry, many cafes offer à la carte options for a more personalized brunch experience.
1. Kafkaf: A Taste of the Orient
Kafkaf, the little sister of Bon Bouquet Café (check out my article on the best coffee shops in Paris!), is a modern cafe that opened in the summer of 2020. The beautiful design with its oriental influences is just as appealing as the mouthwatering food. Here, fresh, high-quality ingredients are used to create homemade dishes with a unique twist. Think classic brunch staples like avocado toast, French toast, and pancakes, but with a subtle oriental touch of spices, orange blossom, and pistachios.
My Recommendation: Don’t be afraid to share! Order a few different dishes to experience the full range of flavors.
2. Sunday in Soho: Good Vibes and Good Food
Sunday in Soho, with its cozy atmosphere and friendly staff, will make you feel right at home. Their motto, “good vibes served daily,” says it all! This cafe boasts a delicious American-inspired menu, offering everything from bacon and eggs and avocado toast to pancakes, healthy bowls, and homemade cakes.
My Recommendation: My American friend raved about the Naughty Biscuit (bacon, egg, cheddar on homemade buttermilk biscuit) – definitely worth trying!
3. Holycake: Where Desserts Reign Supreme
Holycake is a true coffee shop paradise dedicated to both cake design and delicious brunch. Whether you’re a dessert enthusiast or simply looking for a great place to start your day, this is the perfect spot. Their week-day brunch menu is à la carte, while weekends feature a themed buffet (reservations required via email).
My Recommendation: The entire menu is amazing, but I couldn’t resist the avocado toast with cooked cherry tomatoes, pine nuts, and strawberries. And don’t even think about leaving without indulging in their incredible cupcakes and layer cakes! 🍰
4. Kozy Bosquet: Parisian Charm with a Cozy Touch
Kozy has several cafes in Paris, but their 7th arrondissement location, near the Eiffel Tower, offers brunch all week long. This charming cafe with its beautiful decor and welcoming terrace is a delightful spot for a relaxed brunch. Choose from a variety of à la carte options, including avocado toast, egg dishes, pancakes, and more. Or opt for their set formula (€25.90) which includes sweet and savory pancakes, a hot drink, and a juice/smoothie.
My Recommendation: I love their pancakes and granola bowl, and don’t forget to try their extra-gourmand homemade peanut butter!
5. Restaurant Marcelle: A Homely Atmosphere with Parisian Flair
Restaurant Marcelle, with its pretty white facade, is a charming cafe that’s perfect for a relaxed breakfast or brunch. The homely atmosphere with its white walls and wicker and wooden furniture creates a warm and inviting ambiance. For breakfast, they offer sweet and savory options, including granola bowls, acai bowls, porridge, homemade cakes, and more.
My Recommendation: Their brioches are a must-try – the plain version is perfect with jam and butter, while the cinnamon brioche is an indulgent treat. Head to the top floor and enjoy the view from the big wooden table!
6. Wild and the Moon: Healthy and Delicious
If you’re looking for healthy and eco-friendly food, Wild and the Moon is your go-to spot. Their plant-based and organic menu uses only local, ethically sourced ingredients. And the food is delicious! They offer à la carte options for breakfast, brunch, and lunch, including cold-pressed juices, smoothies, smoothie bowls, chia puddings, and more.
My Recommendation: Try one of their delicious smoothie bowls – they have a wide variety to choose from!
Enjoy your Parisian brunch adventure! 🇫🇷 Remember to arrive early and explore the amazing brunch and breakfast options Paris has to offer. You won’t be disappointed!
