Paris, the City of Lights, is a place that can be both overwhelming and captivating for first-time visitors. This was certainly true for me, and I was instantly smitten by its stunning architecture, vibrant art culture, and historical significance. I visited in early March, but unfortunately, the weather wasn’t on my side. It was unusually cold and rained constantly, putting a damper on some of my plans. However, the one thing that really made my trip was my hotel, which offered breathtaking views of the Eiffel Tower. So, I’m here to share my recommendations for a delightful hotel and an incredible restaurant with a view of this iconic landmark.
A Towering Impression
On my first day in Paris, I set out from my hotel on foot with the hope of reaching the iconic Eiffel Tower, towering at 324 meters. As I approached the Seine River on a gloomy morning, I was greeted by the classic silhouette of the Eiffel Tower, and I couldn’t help but be mesmerized by its height. Looking at it from afar, framed by the bare branches of trees, I didn’t fall in love with it instantly, but love doesn’t always happen at first sight. With every step closer to the Eiffel Tower, my admiration grew.
Capturing Paris’s Most Photographed Landmark
One of the wonderful things about the Eiffel Tower is that you can enjoy stunning views of it from nearly anywhere in Paris. No matter where you stand in the French capital, the Eiffel Tower is likely to be a focal point.
The majestic Eiffel Tower is a photographer’s dream, offering gorgeous photo opportunities from all angles. Whether you’re capturing it from across the Seine River like I did on a cloudy day or from the rooftop of a hotel, the Eiffel Tower always shines. And then there’s the moment when you stand directly below it, truly appreciating its immense height. This awe-inspiring experience is perhaps one of the reasons why the Eiffel Tower is one of the most photographed landmarks in the world.
A Parisian Gem: Cafe du Trocadero
Right outside the Trocadero station, I discovered a hidden gem: Cafe du Trocadero. This delightful restaurant offered unparalleled views of the Eiffel Tower. It was the epitome of a classic Parisian cafe, exuding a local charm. So, if you’re looking for a renowned restaurant with a view, look no further than Cafe du Trocadero. I highly recommend enjoying a glass of wine or a cup of coffee, just like I did.
A Hotel with a View: Palais de Chaillot
I stayed at the Hotel Palais de Chaillot, which I highly recommend for its fantastic location and amazing views of the Eiffel Tower from its fifth floor. This hotel offers a true taste of the Parisian neighborhood, with fantastic restaurants nearby. The train connectivity at the nearby Trocadero station was an added bonus. The Palais de Chaillot is also one of the most affordable hotels with Eiffel Tower views, making it a perfect option for budget-conscious travelers. Every evening, I could marvel at the Eiffel Tower shimmering at night through the beautiful French windows of my room.
A Parisian Escape: My Recommendation
If you’re searching for a hotel with Eiffel Tower views in a Parisian neighborhood, then I highly recommend the Palais de Chaillot. They have a seamless check-in and check-out process, and their staff is incredibly helpful. The location is a major selling point, as they are remarkably close to the Trocadero, famous for its breathtaking Eiffel Tower views.
Beyond its cozy atmosphere and prime location, the Palais de Chaillot is a perfect choice for couples. If you are traveling with a family, you might want to inquire about larger family rooms. I stayed on the fifth floor, which provided stunning Eiffel Tower views from my room window. If you prefer a room with Eiffel Tower views, I suggest staying on the top floors.
