Picture this: You’re in Paris, gazing at the iconic Eiffel Tower from a suite that’s bigger than your entire apartment. This isn’t a dream – it’s the reality of staying at the Pullman Paris Eiffel Tower Hotel in their Penthouse Eiffel Suite, previously known as the Eiffel Suite.
I’m a firm believer in researching before booking, and this suite was the culmination of hours of dedicated searching. Trust me, you won’t find a better view of the Eiffel Tower from a hotel room in Paris!
A Pricy Paradise: The Perks of the Suite
This breathtaking view doesn’t come cheap, though. The suite’s price tag is the most I’ve ever paid for a single night in a hotel, easily surpassing the cost of a week-long stay at other hotels. But, considering it’s the only suite of its kind in the entire hotel, it’s a truly unique experience.
Imagine stepping into a 110 square-meter space – that’s over 50% larger than my flat! You’ll be blown away by the sheer amount of room. This suite is a luxurious oasis compared to the average 32 square-meter hotel room in the UK.
Unpacking the Luxury: Features that Elevate the Experience
From the moment you enter, you’ll be greeted by a well-stocked bar with a mini-fridge full of prosecco, wine, beer, water, and soft drinks. Although only the water and soft drinks are complimentary, the others are priced in line with typical hotel costs. There’s also tea, coffee, and a Nespresso machine, along with a selection of glasses and mugs to suit your beverage preference.
Adjacent to the bar is a comfortable seating area, featuring a corner sofa, table, and a large 46″ flat-screen TV with Bose speaker setup. The entire suite boasts floor-to-ceiling glass windows and doors, allowing natural light and breathtaking views to flood in.
Next, you’ll find a spacious marble dining table with four comfy chairs, perfect for enjoying room service. But if the weather permits, you can also dine outside on the balcony, taking in the Parisian air and stunning views. A bathroom conveniently located before the bedroom provides added convenience.
Bedroom Bliss: A Haven of Comfort
The bedroom, which can be separated from the main suite by sliding doors, offers a king-size bed with the most comfortable pillows I’ve ever slept on. It’s a spacious haven, complete with a chaise longue and another 46″ flat-screen TV, for ultimate relaxation. Double doors leading to the balcony allow you to step out and enjoy the fresh air.
Unwind in Style: An Impressive Bathroom
The bathroom, located on the other side of the bedroom, is a luxurious oasis. It boasts a double bath with a generous selection of C. O. Bigelow toiletries, and an incredible rainfall shower with a hand shower option. The main room includes two sinks with large mirrors and a second toilet, ensuring ample space and convenience.
Amenities for Extended Stays: Feel at Home
If you’re planning a longer stay, the Pullman Eiffel Suite offers ample storage space, including a walk-in wardrobe room. A Bose dock with an iPad allows you to enjoy music throughout the suite.
The View That Steals the Show
This review wouldn’t be complete without highlighting the spectacular view of the Eiffel Tower, which was the main reason for my choice. It’s truly breathtaking, and I even consulted the concierge service through my American Express Platinum card, who confirmed it as the best Eiffel Tower view available from a hotel room.
The continuous balcony spans the length of the suite, providing a dedicated space to soak up the Parisian atmosphere with a table and chairs.
Pro Tip: From 6pm until 1am, the Eiffel Tower sparkles for five minutes every hour. This is the perfect time to capture stunning Instagram photos!
Hotel Amenities: More Than Just a Suite
The hotel itself is on the left bank of Paris, conveniently situated next to the Eiffel Tower. It houses a massive 430 rooms, with nine different types and three suite options. There’s also the FRAME brasserie and a bar, offering dining and entertainment options.
Check-in starts at 2pm, but we were able to request an early check-in and arrived at around noon. Check-out is at 11am, but we also requested a later check-out of noon, and the hotel was more than accommodating.
Transportation: Getting to and From the Hotel
The hotel is approximately 18 miles from Charles de Gaulle airport and 10 miles from Paris Orly airport. The Gare Champ de Mars Tour Eiffel station is a short five-minute walk away, and you can reach it from Charles de Gaulle airport via a combination of the RER B and RER C services in under an hour. This journey costs around 11€ (£9 / $12) one way.
Alternatively, you can take Le Bus Direct on line 2, which takes about 60-70 minutes and costs 18€ (£15 / $20) one way, without requiring any transfers. Of course, you can also choose to drive, as paid parking is available at the hotel.
Room Service Delights: A Culinary Experience
With the suite’s incredible view and spacious dining table, we opted for room service during our stay. The starters ranged from 11€ (£9 / $12) for soup to 19€ (£16 / $21) for a chopped avocado salad with smoked salmon toast, with a grain bowl option in between.
Main courses began at 14€ (£12 / $16) for linguine, reaching 37€ (£32 / $41) for a 300g seared strip steak. We both went for the steak, which was exceptionally delicious. The hotel staff brought it up on a hot plate and set the table for us, enhancing the dining experience. Other main course options included a spiced chicken dish and the fish of the day.
Desserts averaged around 12€ (£10 / $13), offering options like chocolate fondant, cheese, and fruit salad. Some of the dishes across the three courses were available 24 hours a day, with healthy options clearly marked on the menu. There’s even a TV Dinner option, featuring a sharing platter with smoked salmon, roasted chicken, ham, cheese, salad, and tortillas for 29€ (£25 / $32).
Would I Stay Again? Absolutely!
This suite might seem like a splurge, but for a special occasion, it’s an unforgettable experience. The suite is fantastic, and how often do you get to stay in a room with such a breathtaking view of the Eiffel Tower? If only I had the budget to indulge in this level of luxury on all my trips!
