This is not a review, this is a warning! Avoid this so-called “hotel” at all costs. From the moment I booked, things went downhill faster than a runaway train. The “hotel” is actually just a collection of apartments with terrible management and even worse conditions.
My nightmare began before I even arrived. A day before my check-in, I received a call at 10:30 PM informing me that my booked room had been given to someone else! Instead of the luxurious Concorde suite I had reserved three weeks earlier, I was now stuck with a smaller “Eiffel room.” I demanded a full refund, but they claimed it was a “double-booking” mistake.
This was just the beginning. After much arguing with the booking site and the hotel, I was eventually allowed to have my original room. However, finding the place was a challenge in itself. The directions were inaccurate, and the given code didn’t work. I stood outside for two hours, unable to reach anyone by phone.
Inside, the reality was even worse. The apartment was dark, dirty, and looked nothing like the online pictures. I was told I couldn’t check in immediately but could leave my luggage and come back later. When I returned, the manager laughed when I explained the situation. He said someone else had already checked into my room!
The “suite” was a joke. It was a small, dark room with damaged walls and a broken door. It was far from the luxurious suite I had booked. When I demanded my money back, the owner was incredibly rude and told me to “go stay at the Four Seasons” and that I would never get a refund. He basically threw me out onto the street! I had lost £1100 and was forced to find a new hotel. This place is a complete scam.
Please, do yourself a favor and avoid this nightmare at all costs. There are plenty of other decent hotels in Paris. Don’t waste your money and time on this one!
A Mixed Bag: Some Good, Some Bad, But Overall Disappointing
This hotel had its moments, but ultimately it wasn’t worth the price. We were greeted warmly by the receptionist, who was very helpful and gave us some good restaurant recommendations. The location was decent, with easy access to shops, restaurants, and the Louvre. However, it was near a busy street and the Metro was closed due to a strike. The hotel had two tiny lifts that would be a nightmare for anyone with claustrophobia.
The biggest problem was the rooms. They were small, which we expected, but they looked dirty and felt grimy. The bathroom door in one room was broken and the hairdryer was unreliable. The air conditioning units were filthy and the walls were peeling.
The breakfast was okay, but the service was inconsistent. Sometimes the staff was pleasant, other times they were rude and unhelpful. Getting a refill of orange juice took 20 minutes!
The reception staff was also unreliable. One person was constantly on their phone or watching Tik Tok videos, while another was unhelpful when we tried to book a taxi. It took me 10 minutes to book one myself.
Overall, the hotel was dated and in need of serious TLC. The rooms were disappointing and the service was inconsistent. Perhaps we were unlucky with our rooms, but the whole experience left us feeling let down.
Parisian Charm: A Delightful Stay
This hotel is a true gem in the heart of Paris. It’s located in a beautiful area, with charming shops and restaurants just across the square. The metro station is just a short walk away, making it easy to explore the city.
The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. They even arranged for our family to have rooms together. I had a room with a balcony and a stunning view of the Eiffel Tower, especially beautiful at night.
The breakfast was a real highlight. It offered a delicious and varied selection of hot and cold food, including fresh fruit, pastries, and cooked dishes like eggs and sausages. There were also plenty of drinks to choose from, including coffee, tea, and juice. Something for everyone!
The hotel staff was exceptional. They booked our taxi for our departure, printed out our boarding passes and attraction tickets at no extra charge, and provided excellent wifi throughout the hotel.
This hotel is a true Parisian experience. It’s charming, convenient, and offers fantastic service. I’ve stayed here before and it’s just as wonderful as I remember. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Paris!
