Indulge in Luxury: Where to Sip Champagne in Paris

Paris is synonymous with elegance, and what better way to embrace the city’s luxurious spirit than by savoring exquisite champagne at its finest hotels and intimate bars? Let’s embark on a journey that will make you feel like royalty.

The Ritz Paris: This iconic hotel, nestled in the heart of the city, boasts a rich history and opulence. Step into the Hemingway Bar, a haven for champagne lovers, and relish the delicate bubbles of your chosen champagne while indulging in delectable gastronomic delights.

Dilletantes: Venture into the vibrant Saint Germain des Prés neighborhood and discover this special “out-of-the-way” wine bar. Here, wine enthusiasts gather to savor exceptional champagnes in an inviting ambiance. Dilletantes features an extensive and meticulously curated wine list showcasing a wide array of champagne varieties from renowned producers. But the real stars are the little-known yet passionate “Recoltant Manipulant” growers, whose exceptional champagnes are celebrated here.

The knowledgeable and friendly sommeliers are passionate about champagne and eager to guide you through the tasting experience. They’ll unveil the characteristics and nuances of the Champagne region, helping you discover new favorites while expanding your understanding of this noble wine. As you settle into the cozy atmosphere, adorned with wine-related décor, you can sip on your chosen champagne while enjoying a selection of tasty small plates and cheese platters that complement the tasting experience perfectly.

Le Doukhan: This boutique hotel, part of the Marriott group, houses one of Paris’ best Champagne bars. Choose from a selection of 240 different bottles or opt for a glass after selecting your preferred glass from their five options. For a truly indulgent experience, try their weekly featured “degustation of 3 champagnes.” Simply sit back and enjoy!

Canardet Champagne: This delightful bar/bistro, situated off the Boulevard Montmartre, offers a heavenly marriage of duck and champagne. Need I say more? The Instagram-worthy pics will speak for themselves! They serve up to 60 different champagnes, mostly from grower or smaller houses, at reasonable prices, perfectly paired with their amazing duck dishes.

Les Caves Legrandes: No list would be complete without mentioning this Parisian institution. Since 1880, Les Caves Legrandes has been delighting patrons with its selection of exquisite wines and “délicieux et exquis” experiences. Head to Galerie Vivienne inside, which showcases a captivating champagne list, or select your bottle from the cellar, where you’ll find a diverse range of Maisons and smaller producers.

Exquisite Dining: Bistros near Saint Germain des Prés

Since we’re already in the charming neighborhood of Saint Germain des Prés, let’s stay put! After all, when it comes to dining, this arrondissement truly steals the show. Here, a plethora of bistros serve authentic French cuisine with a contemporary twist.

Café de Flore: This legendary café, gracing the streets of Saint Germain des Prés since 1887, exudes old-world charm and offers a menu brimming with French delights. From classic escargots to melt-in-your-mouth foie gras, this bistro will delight both your palate and soul.

Les Deux Magots: Another iconic establishment in the neighborhood, Les Deux Magots exudes a timeless Parisian vibe. Indulge in their signature dishes, confit de canard and tarte tatin, while immersing yourself in the bohemian atmosphere that has attracted artists and intellectuals for decades. (You may even recognize the sandstone walls in the background of the photo of my Mum + I in 2017 above!)

Chez L’Ami Jean: Tucked away on Rue Malar, Chez L’Ami Jean is a hidden gem adored by locals. This cozy bistro serves hearty, authentic French fare with a Basque twist. From their famous duck confit to their succulent roasted bone marrow, every dish promises a culinary journey you won’t forget.

Unveiling Hidden Gems: Two Surprising Tourist Attractions

Paris is renowned for its iconic landmarks, but hidden within its streets lie unexpected treasures that most tourists overlook. Here are two surprising attractions that will add a touch of magic to your Parisian adventure:

Promenade Plantée: Often referred to as the original High Line, this hidden gem is a haven of tranquility. Located on an elevated former railway track, Promenade Plantée is a picturesque green oasis offering stunning views of the cityscape. Take a leisurely stroll or find a quiet spot to enjoy a picnic while escaping the hustle and bustle of the city below.

Fragonard Perfume Classes: Delve into the art of fragrance creation at the renowned perfume house, Fragonard. Fragonard has multiple boutiques and workshops throughout Paris, but one of their flagship locations is in the heart of the city. During the perfume workshop, you’ll have the opportunity to explore different fragrance notes, learn about the history of perfumery, and create your very own signature scent under the guidance of expert perfumers! It’s an immersive and unforgettable experience for perfume enthusiasts and those who wish to uncover more secrets behind the art of perfumery.

As you join the Champagne Goddess on this two-day adventure in Paris, you will embrace the spirit of celebration and indulge in the world-class experiences that this city has to offer. You’ll sip champagne at luxurious hotels and bars, relish authentic French cuisine at charming bistros, and explore these hidden gems, and so much more.
