The Mind of a Master
Andrew Joseph: What’s your wake-up ritual?
Jean Philippe-Nuel: First, I try to go back to sleep, but inevitably I wake up. Then, I spend 20 minutes in meditation.
Andrew: How do you achieve work-life balance?
Jean: There is no such thing! Even on vacation, I’m answering your questions. But luckily, I’m on an island with breathtaking views of the Mediterranean. Maybe the beauty will inspire me.
Andrew: What’s your favorite time of day?
Jean: Night, especially if I can see the stars.
Andrew: Who would you want to write your obituary?
Jean: I better start thinking about that so I’m not caught off guard!
Andrew: What’s the most adventurous thing you’ve ever done?
Jean: Exploring the forbidden parts of the Parisian catacombs at night. Crawling through tunnels surrounded by skeletons, I got lost and had to find my way back before dawn. A true adventure!
Andrew: If you had one extra hour in the day, what would you do with it?
Jean: I’d dedicate it to something I haven’t had time for: reading or re-reading a classic French novel, painting, sailing… or maybe just doing nothing.
Andrew: What’s the best advice you’d give your teenage self?
Jean: Don’t listen to too much advice! Live your dreams to the fullest, because some of them might just come true.
Andrew: How do you define beauty?
Jean: For me, beauty is feminine and synonymous with elegance—both physical and moral—combined with intelligence.
