The Future of First Class: Luxury in the Clouds

Imagine flying in a private suite that’s more like a boutique hotel room than a cramped airplane seat. This dream is becoming a reality thanks to London design firm Seymourpowell, who have unveiled the ultimate first-class experience: First Spaces.

This revolutionary concept reimagines luxury travel with private, fully-enclosed suites designed for the discerning traveler who craves ultimate privacy and comfort. Say goodbye to the usual cramped, shared space – First Spaces offers a truly personalized experience.

The Hotel in the Sky

First Spaces elevates the concept of first class to a whole new level. Six luxurious suites are housed within the spacious confines of an Airbus A380, the world’s largest passenger jet. Privacy is paramount – each suite features a retractable door, allowing passengers to completely shut off from the outside world.

Comfort is king in First Spaces. The plush armchairs or couches effortlessly transform into comfortable beds, perfect for catching some shut-eye during long-haul flights. Entertainment is provided by a 42-inch TV screen, the largest you’ll find on any plane. Smart technology seamlessly anticipates passengers’ needs, creating a truly personalized and stress-free experience.

Seymourpowell's concept has been nominated for a Crystal Cabin Award at the Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg, Germany

Tailor-Made Travel

First Spaces offers a flexible and adaptable model for airlines. There are four single suites and two double suites, catering to both solo travelers and couples. The double suites, featuring a king-size bed, can be booked by solo travelers at a premium fare or couples can enjoy a romantic escape at a price that is cheaper than two single rooms.

Every detail has been carefully considered to create a luxurious and functional space. Each suite comes equipped with soft furnishings, ample storage space for hand luggage and personal belongings, amenity kits, and a tablet computer that controls all room functions.

Personalized Service

First Spaces embraces cutting-edge technology to deliver an unprecedented level of personalized service. Passengers can use their own devices or the built-in tablet to control everything from in-flight entertainment and seat ergonomics to lighting and room temperature. This smart technology also anticipates passengers’ needs, providing prescient service that ensures a seamless and enjoyable experience.

Seymourpowell has developed a system that uses sensors to track passengers’ preferences, creating a truly custom-tailored experience. For example, if a passenger knocks on their door or uses the built-in doorbell to signal a flight attendant, the film they are watching will automatically pause. Once the attendant has attended to their needs, the film will resume from exactly where it left off, guaranteeing that passengers never miss a moment of entertainment.

A Glimpse of Luxury

First Spaces is more than just suites in the sky. The design team has created a luxurious and inviting environment that makes passengers feel like they are stepping into a world-class hotel.

The lobby is a welcoming space featuring S curves and horizontally slatted walls, inviting passengers to relax and unwind before entering their private suite. The first-class galley, inspired by contemporary restaurants, offers passengers a glimpse behind the scenes as food is prepared.

Seymourpowell is confident that First Spaces will revolutionize luxury travel. With its focus on personalization, comfort, and privacy, it offers the ultimate flying experience. Although there is no confirmed launch date yet, development and certification can take time, so get ready to experience the future of first class with First Spaces!
