I’m talking about LeFrench Mobile, a company that offers a hassle-free and affordable way to use your mobile phone in Paris. I’m not affiliated with them in any way, but I’m so impressed with their service that I just have to share it.
Here’s how it works:
- First things first, your phone needs to be unlocked. Most phone providers in Australia will unlock your phone without any issues. Just contact them and explain that you’re traveling. If you’re in the US, this might be a bit more challenging, but you can always try!
- Before you leave, check that your phone is unlocked. You can do this by inserting a SIM card from a different provider. If you can make calls, your phone is unlocked!
- Order your LeFrench Mobile SIM card online. The free SIM card costs €35 and includes €35 of credit. Delivery is free within Europe and takes 1-2 weeks.
- Don’t forget to take your instructions and PIN number with you! You’ll receive these via email once the card is shipped.
- Activate the SIM card once you arrive in France. You can do this using the airport’s free Wi-Fi.
- Once activated, convert your credit to data bundles using the codes provided on the LeFrench Mobile website. You can check your balance and data usage anytime by sending an SMS to 22 213 with the letters BAL.
